mocbuild101 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Am I correct in thinking this has been made from 42055? Quote
aminnich Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 If that's the case and it was built from 42055, I'm pretty sure they give enough tracks to do this model What is it like almost 200 tread links. Quote
Jurss Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 That excavator arm lloks too big for vehicle, but I like, how it's made. Quote

Yes this is made from the 42055 set 2 hours ago, aminnich said: If that's the case and it was built from 42055, I'm pretty sure they give enough tracks to do this model What is it like almost 200 tread links. This could be made tracked too. The reason why i used wheels is because the maneuverability is better because if i made it tracked, i would have had to use the motor and BB which would have made the model heaps larger. Also making the tracks go back and fourth AND turn would be a headache to do with only one motor. 33 minutes ago, Jurss said: That excavator arm lloks too big for vehicle, but I like, how it's made. Agreed. It's the smallest arm i could think of while using three LA's. I could make it smaller by using only one LA and clever linkages but i prefer not to. It's still pretty balanced once you deploy the outriggers. Even when the arm is reaching at it's maximum. However, lifting anything is a different story. 1gor Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Just one friendly suggestion; don't use spooler with images because it is slowing up forum browsing on portable machines that are used in countryside due to mobile Internet acces which is grneraly slower than flat which is tipical for city users Quote

Cute little model, lots of functionality. I personally think it may look a little better if you covered it with more panels, it just seems a bit bare. Quote

I personally use a PC because i'm oldschool so large images never bothered me. Don't know how the images can slow down the forum since imgur is hosting them? Quote

Don't know how the images can slow down the forum since imgur is hosting them? they can slow down user's device because everything what you see on display must be "downloaded" on local disk and must be read into memory in order to display; it is principle of work for every kind of computer, no matter smart-phone, tablet, laptop, PC, workstation... (BTW I'm also old school, but due to my profession I could say that I know something about IT ) You can make your account on (for example) bricksafe.com and you can link images here with appropriate resolution (example 800 x 600)... I do that on my topics and it works very good Quote
Mechbuilds Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 Well i like to use imgur because it's simple and i'm already registered there so all i need to do is click the icon in my favorites list. I could just put a list of links instead and only display one image next time. Quote
