Piratical = sneak out with box?

Nah! I'd get out my harquebuses and shoot those blocking the entrance. Then I'd draw my rapier be prepared to cut down anyone that challenged me while I loaded myself up with some sets. Of course it would be much better if I had a crew to assist me...

That's why it has to be a big box. 'Sneak' has nothing to do with it ;) . It is the sheer audacity that counts and nobody challenges you because they see the undrawn rapier sticking out...

God Bless,

Maybe if your friends are starting to lose interest in LEGO you could kindly relieve them of it.  Or offer to buy it off them very cheaply.  Most of them probably don't know what is really worth, and once they completely lose interest in it, its most likely going to be thrown in some box and stashed somewhere not to be seen in ages.  The next time its seen is a few years later when they need to clear out space, so they either do the unthinkable and dispose of it, or if they're more sensible they sell it.  eBay has proved very useful for this purpose.

But you might as well get in first...

However, I don't know how old you and your friends are, or how much they treasure their LEGO so what I just told you could have been a load of bull dust.

oooo great idea mr phes alot of them have alot of the pirate stuff which i would love to get my hands on..as with you im sure but you have enough :P.....and whats more funny is they all have it in boxes and in storage soo i think if i get some money im gonna buy it off of them

Ahhhhhhhh dude! I am pleased that this information has helped you.

$55 in which currency? US dollars?

Anyway, it sounds like a pretty good deal if he has a tonne of Pirate sets with boxes for $55. Just don't act too keen or he might take advantage of the situation and raise the price on you. In fact, try to get it down to $50!

A lot of the bigger sets sell for well over $50 alone, especially if they have their box and instructions. All I can say is I wish I thought of doing this when I was about 12. Would have saved me heaps of money later in life!

But, just remember: You can never have too much Pirate LEGO. And neither can I for that matter!
