doug72 Posted October 4, 2017 Author Posted October 4, 2017 (edited) Parts received today and both wheels now re-built. and much more sturdy. Had slight concerns that on a tiled floor it might skid when turning so two extra rubber tires now carried on board as spares just in case more grip for steering needed. Distance between wheels reduced, so will have to make a new display stand for static running as it catches on wheels. Tested on tiled floor and carpet and performs OK without skidding. Made a quick video made to demonstrate, turn up the sound it makes a lot of racket now,Ear Defenders are advisable ! Will be making a better new entry video over the next few days. ColletArrow Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I love the racket this highly original and mad creation makes! Do you think you could gear up the circular saw blades? I don't think they look very effective at low speed. Quote

I agree but it was very hard to squeeze in a right angle drive and had to use the new 1M worm, which resulted in a 20/1 reduction. Luckilly the section with the two rotating cones and daisy cutter can be unplugged from main body of the machine. I had thoughts of different weapons that could be interchanged. I,ve just had a quick look and think I may have a solution. Means re-shooting 1st. part of the entry video. Edited October 5, 2017 by Doug72 Image added Quote

Will remake part 1 for my entry video tomorrow. Edited October 5, 2017 by Doug72 Quote
MegaRoi Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 What a wacky entry. I started laughing instantly while watching the video above. It looks so funny!!! Also your entry has a very grim look when watching from front. I don't want to see that in my rear view mirror becoming bigger and bigger ... intimidating. I' no gearing guru, but I would say the cones are still a bit faster, while they use different gearing. If you want to have the same speed, you should use the half stud wide tan gear, same size as the tan bevel gears. And the small tan gear instead of the black one. I don't know how many teeth the gears have, so this must be it for explanation. Cool entry! Quote

Your are right, the gears to the daisy cutter should 20/12 not 12/12 as shown, easy to fix. Had tried to add a nose so it looks more like a face, still working on that. MegaRoi Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I watched it again, because I forgot to enable sound the first time. What shall I say? Quote

A crazy face! Good work. Unintentional but I did think about putting eyes on the cone ends but couldn't come up with a legal Lego solution to attach them and also keep cones attached to the drive axles.. You could say the cones “hip no ti eyes” Edited October 10, 2017 by Doug72 Quote
