Superkoala Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Hello Eurobrick, I wasn’t sure to participate to the TC 12 contest, but i had some idea that i could work on, so, here’s my WIP. I present you the Formula De Vil. In theory: Design: will be a mix between a rat-rod and a dragster. With big engine. Color: “I work only in black, and sometime very very dark grey” – Batman. Kidding, I would like to have a super hype black/red vehicle, but 100% chance I will not have enough part. I will do my best and try not to spend a fortune in spare part to have the right color. Propulsion : Rear wheel drive through PF-XL Steering : front wheel through PF-Servo Wacky function : lateral punch (to be confirmed) actuated by PF-L . Work is still on the draft phase, and still a lot of issue to be solved, but it’s fun. I will post update later, bye. Quote
BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Very nice. I can see that it's going to be a dragster type vehicle as you described. Tell me, what inspired the name? Was it the "De Vil" put together is "devil"? Quote

Yep, it's a combination between Formula "Devil" and the Disney's character Cruella De Vil whose car is one source of inspiration for the final design Spoiler Quote
mocbuild101 Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I was expecting someone to make a hot-rod type vehicle, and it turned out to be you, so good work, and good luck! 4 hours ago, Superkoala said: “I work only in black, and sometime very very dark grey” – Batman. My favourite thing ever said in a movie! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I like the chassis of Cruella De Vil, the 6 cylinders in line are amazing! Quote
offroadcreations Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Nice progress so far, I like that front end. I'm really excited to see how this turns out. Quote
Leonardo da Bricki Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Excellent start! It already looks imposing. I see a V-12 engine in the background... Will that take the place of the straight-6? Quote

Superkoala Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 Sorry for the Double post. So, I have been out of home for a few days, so the work have not really evolved. Some little improvment, however: the chassis is it final dimension (need some reinforcement to avoid bending) and all the electrical part is now installed: 1 rechageable battery box 1 PF XL for propulsion 1 PF-Servo for steering 2 PF-L for the side punch (1 on each side) 2 PF-LED Until the week-end I will try to finish the steering and engine aspect so i can start the body work . I am still not sure of what will be the final design*, so i may make more than one test. To be continued. Spoiler * probably a mix of this and this and this Quote
ThatOneBuilder Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Mixing those 3 will look really funky! Good luck! Quote
Superkoala Posted September 2, 2017 Author Posted September 2, 2017 Some work yesterday. Sorry for the shitty picture, my phone isn't great for that. First impression matters, so the De Vil is now fitted with its headlight. It has also been completed with all its wheels and engines and is wacky function -sidepunch- that has been succesfully tested The issue now is the final design. I made a test of what could be a rat-rod look before disassebled my model to have the right part in the right color, but its not what i expected. Not aggessive enough it just look like a big box on wheel. I may change the design to something more curved and dynamic. Quote
BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Seems like the wacky functions is a little useless considering the wheels extend farther sideways than the push-thing. Might wanna change that? Quote

Might wanna change that? I'm not sure to keep the doubled wheels, maybe not. Some work last week. And some improvement still to be made. Sorry, again, for the bad quality of the photos, my reflex will be available for the final shooting. Quote
BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 It's looking beautiful. I say no to the double wheels. Quote
Aventador2004 Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 I love it so much, double wheels ftw! Quote
mocbuild101 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Looking good! I really like the lights! As for the double wheels, I would say no, at least for those wheels anyway... Quote
Jim Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Dude, you made my day. Your wacky function is awesome! Nice work. Glad you joined the contest. EvilEnderman Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 That looks awesome! The colour scheme really suits it! Quote
Superkoala Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 Thank you all for your feedback. The DeVil is complete, and as I will be short of time until mid-october I don't think I will upgrade it. So the next step is to prepare real photos and videos for the entry topic. Quote
mocbuild101 Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 (edited) Nice work! And it looks much better without double wheels. Edited October 22, 2017 by mocbuild101 Quote
Carsten Svendsen Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 That looks mean bro. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't take 1st place Quote
