Doctor Sinister Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I was rooting around in my old parts and stumbled across these examples of really old discoloured LEGO bricks (top and bottom, middle bricks included for comparison purposes). Take a good look - these are meant to be WHITE pieces - they are so old, they now look almost tan. One of them has the remnants of an ancient sticker on it. I think these pieces must be at least 30 years old. And yet...as horrible as they are - they are MINE and you can't have them! :-) I've got some blue stuff as well that looks almost brown. Let's see what everyone else has got! Dr. S. Quote

Capn Frank Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 ...And yet...as horrible as they are - they are MINE and you can't have them! :-) ... I have the same philosophy. X-D They may be discolored, but i've worked hard to get all my bricks. :-P I used some of my discolored white bricks in my church. X-D I was trying to give it an older look. The discolored bricks are from sets around 1986. P Quote
rupi Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I did a vignette some time ago using my worst pieces, some are even broken... I called it "space veterans" These are my most abused played pieces and minifigs from childhood, they are about 25 years old. I took BW pictures to make it look less scary. BS gallery Quote

rupi Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Whoah...now those pieces beat anything I've seen hands down!Dr. S. Yes they are in very bad shape. But I have to say I was very carefull with my toys and always liked to have them in order, I even kept almost all my Lego boxes... but these pieces were really abused. I remember that I liked the space minifigs so much and played a lot with them in the tub pretending they were divers :-D Quote

Sir Dillon Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I used some of my discolored white bricks in my church. X-D I was trying to give it an older look. The discolored bricks are from sets around 1986. Wow, I think that looks great. My only suggestion would be to spread them out a little more, instead of having them all towards the bottom like that. Adding in a few tan bricks might look good as well. Quote

That's a good idea. I might try that when i rebuilt the church; oh and spread them out a little too. Thanx P Quote
