andreasbaumgart Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) The last nights were short but here is the result: The second prototype for a sand table. A sand sculpture based on #LEGO #MindstormsI will keep you up-to-date on the further development :-)#Mindstormsmagic Edited August 19, 2017 by andreasbaumgart Quote
RohanBeckett Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Very nice! always great to see Lego integrated into 'real world' objects. Even the slight shuddering of the ball makes a very nice pattern as it spirals around. Are you able to program it to do different patterns/shapes? spirograph style... or even writing letters!! Quote

I want to programm different mathematical Patterns. 7 hours ago, aeh5040 said: That's awesome! So simple yet so beautiful. :-) Thanks! My brain worked a more time on this idea as you can see on the video ? But yes. The mechanical result is even simpler. Quote

BusterHaus Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I'm not sure how I missed this when it was posted. Very nice application of Mindstorms, the latest picture shows some nice paths. The light underneath gives it a very cool effect! Any plans to make it move in straight lines? Quote
JDL1967 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Something else for a change. I like it very mutch. Quote

BusterHaus Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Keep them coming! How long does it take to program and run the fancy patterns? Quote

The programming is not the problem. It took even longer to get the result or changing the parameters for a creative design. I made a video the last days. That took a terrible long time. It will be published on YT the next days. But here is a picture of my "Billund table". The shown spiral needs nearly 15 minutes to be finished. But you can't hear nearly nothing. No motor and no steel ball. If you hear the ball, it sounds like foot steps in the snow :-) Edited August 24, 2017 by andreasbaumgart Quote
