Hi all,

As the title states, is there a way to copy elements from one LDD file to another?

Hypothetically speaking, if I'm working on a head in one LXF and a body in another LXF is there a way to join the two together?

Cheers :)

I think that

  • open a file
  • copy the desired bricks
  • close the file and open the new file
  • paste the bricks

should work too. I'm quite sure I use this method with the previous versions of LDD not much time ago.

I’d amend that to just “open the new file” because “closing a file” in LDD could be taken as “close LDD,” which wouldn’t work :tongue:

So, to sum up:

  • open+copy+open+paste,
  • or import (also imports groups),
  • or use a template (stays available between sessions).

Correct, I just wanted to point up that open the new file causes the closure of the previously opened file (LDD don't manage two files simultaneously), but I didn't remember the exact procedure (not sure, I placed them as a single point! )

Thanks everyone, that's most helpful of you all. It'll save me a lot of time now that I don't have to recreate all the parts! :sweet:
