pirzyk Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Here's my first attempt at making a small switcher that is PF powered. There are no special techniques in play the design should be self evident in that the PF components drove the design, though I think it turned out OK. I was even able to put in working headlights though they are a bit large. and for good measure, here is my reference photo: Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Very well done ...also the lights are a good improvement! Just a suggestion: you can put on the bottom and on the top of your side windows two red plates 1x2 with rails and rise the roof of just one plate to maintain front and side windows at the same level Quote

ColletArrow Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 This is a beautifully simplistic yet realistic MOC. It clearly follows the prototype (and also my attitude toward building trains! ). Good job! I like the lights, too; they're clearly not TLG ones though. What did you use for them? Quote

They are modified BrickStuff Pico LED lights. One cable is driving both lights and I used the PF power cable to run them off the same battery as the motor. I could have run 2 cables and been unmodified but I had some broken cables and thought this would be a good use to recycle the LED. 7 hours ago, Phil B said: Now you need to build that slug too .... :) I have been picking prototypes that show off the different livery colors of IC/ICG. I already have a GP-38 in that livery so I need to find another interesting one. If I make it non-motorized, it would be easy to build. Quote
Freezingvettes99 Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Not too shabby! Agreed on the slug, get busy! Quote
Nemo57 Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Very high accuracy of assembly of the model. Everything corresponds to the prototype Quote
