Corvus Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 (edited) Once upon a time, there was a man who was accused of a terrible crime. The Gods, having just come home from a Toga party, did not care to notice his innocence. In punishment, the Gods brought Winter. And so, it snowed on the man and his home. The man, fearing that he would be forced to live on crackers and oatmeal lest he be snowed in, put on his warmest coat, picked up his snow shovel, and went outside to shovel the snow out of his driveway. The man shoveled for a long time, and when he was finished, he turned around to go back inside. When he turned, he saw that the snow had already covered up where he had previously shoveled; the snow was falling so thick, and so heavily, that the man's driveway was snowed over as soon as he finished. The man was forced to shovel his driveway again. And again, and again. For if he stopped, the snow would cover his driveway so thickly that he would never be able to leave his home. This went on for many days and nights- The man shoveled, and the snow covered. Until, one day, the man, weary, tired, and wet, decided that something would have to be done. He could not wait until the end of Winter, which was many months away. Nor could he ignore it- his supply of crackers and oatmeal were quickly running out. The man bought a snow blower, and lived happily ever after, and never set sight on crackers nor oatmeal again. Will, who needs to go shovel the driveway again in a few minutes. |-/ Edited January 27, 2008 by Mr. Mandalorian Quote
Lt. Veers Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Ha. I would have stocked up on more than crackers and oatmeal. Quote
Brainbox Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Snow? The closest I got to snow was a weeks worth of rain, where it rained nigh on continuously, and everytime I stepped outside I got soaked. |-/ Quote

Right now, however, the schools have a 2-hour delay. *sweet* Will Quote

Brainbox Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 We've actually been forcast snow for sometime over the weekend. Finally, we've got a 'snow warning' somewhere in the UK that's not Scotland or Cumbria. Troble is, the forecast can't make up it's mind. It wnet from 'snow on Sunday, rain till then' to 'snow tomorrow, rain from then on' to 'snow sometime, rain sometime' in about three hours *wacko* . Today, it was just really windy and really quite chilly. :-| Quote
Corvus Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 Well, we just do. I think we have about 10 to 12 inches here. The skiing is pretty nice. *sweet* Though... We still haven't gotten a snow day. :'-( Will Funny... I say this, then... SNOW DAY! :-D We got around 5 inches in just a few hours. Made a really cool snow fort. *sweet* Will Quote
iamded Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 We don't get snow. Then again it is summer, but we still don't get it in the winter. X-D ~Peace Quote
Brainbox Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Then again it is summer, but we still don't get it in the winter. X-D Oh, thanks. Way to rub it in ;-) . It's quite cold here, and it's made all the worse by the fact that I'm feeling a bit ill today. Quote
yellost Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Man I wish we ahd snow like that... That's really good and useful snow, snow you can actually do something with (mmmmh, snowman, snowball fight, sled... SKIING *wub* *wub* ...) Not like here, where when we do have snow it's barely a centimeter high, just enough so that it can melt and freeze again in half an hour and get so slippery that everyone is either walking at half speed or breaking his a** on the pavement... My sister went out and played in the snow (not sure how she managed that, there was barely any), then by lunchtime it had mostly gone. :-| Quote
