Stealth Hunter Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 (edited) Do the Bestlock military helmets fit normal LEGO minifigs? Answer please *sweet* . Edited January 26, 2008 by Stealth Hunter Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I don't know about newer sets but I've got a set from about 7-8 years ago and they helmets were actually attached to the head so you couldn't remove them. Hope that helps Quote
wulf Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I just tried it,it works but not very well it looks odd and it falls of. Quote

Minifig Lecturer Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Maybe the helmets in one these pictures are what you mean? I must say LEGO can learn alot from Bestlock with regard to their tanks - pretty class sets. Quote

Brickadier General Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Here you get a picture(sorry a bit small). That looks like a set after the Cobi-Bestlock merger, right? If so, I think their helmets and accessories are interchangeable with Lego figs. This is what their minifigs look like: Quote

As the leader of a nation which has fought the Best Lock Empire for years, this is sacrilege! :-D Every Best Lock military set I've bought has been universally appalling in design, build and quality. Bricks that don't clutch, sets that rely on one whole half of a building hanging off the other half by one stud so you can't pick the thing up without it falling to pieces and just shoddy, shoddy moulding and presentation. This is why Tabletown WILL win the war. :-) Dr. S. Quote

My first was the brick height incapability, but I soon learned they fixed that problem in 2006 so that they could interlock with other brands :-$ I also complained about shoddy building techniques in the vehicles, like what you stated, some of the construction is just plain bad. I also gave a reccomendation of making the helmets and minifigure accessories able to interlock with other brands (Didnt want to name names!) Giving suggestions to a clone brand? :-| I know, seems abit devious, but hey, maybe something of some use to army fans will come of it. Quote

Interesting to hear that you are doing that, and good luck to you. I only bought the BL sets so I could have an "enemy" for Tabletown to rally against (yes, I am manipulating my population, that's how politics works :-D ) so I won't be swapping any parts over between the two. Yes I read about BestLockland. But the tank pictured in one of the first few posts on this topic looked great, although it was a v small photo. Could be shoddy as you say though, which I couldn't tell from the pic! X-O Quote
Johnny 5 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 If a crappy clone brand can make a tank that looks halfway cool, then just think what TLC can do with a military theme. Sure makes you wish for something like that to happen. Quote
swan45 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 The helmets on the soldiers that mr. Calvin showed were maybe from an another clone brand- KAZI!!! *skull* I saw in one china shop an small military tank with soldiers that had the same helmets with the red star of the brand kazi Quote

Wow...that's all good news because I've been eyeballing some Bestlock sets recently, but still had a bad taste in my mouth from my last set several years ago. Knowing they fixed the height disparity is a little comforting. It looks like their designs are picking up a little bit as well. The set I got was a fully-licensed Lockheed-Martin F-117 Nighthawk fighter/bomber that looked great on the box and from an above-and-in-front angle...but was just totally horrid looking from any other angle. Turned me right off Bestlock real quick...but I'm willing to give them another go...especially since Megabloks isn't doing anything but their overwrought Minifig-style sets these days. :-/ Quote

Weird; I read that sentence as "Every Best Lock military set I've bought has been universally appalling in design, build and quality. Bricks that aren't dutch" *wacko* I often see Bestlock bricks on Ebay, many selling for the minimum price, or for £2-3, although they almost all come from China so postage is high, which is why I have not bought any. (To become cannon fodder/ targets for my Lego military of course!!) Quote
