Khaled Yousef Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) Hello everyone. This year is going to be an awesome Star Wars year; we’re celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Star Wars universe while at the same time enjoying the privilege of living through the birth of a new cinematic chapter of the saga, with the next installment to be also released in that same great year of celebration. And I’m going to celebrate my way; a new MOC every month, covering stuff from the OT, PT and ST as well, and I’m starting my marathon with a small logo as January’s MOC to fire up the excitement. I hope you guys like it. Star Wars 40 Anniversary Logo 2 (small) by Khaled Yousef, on Flickr Edited April 20, 2017 by Khaled Yousef Quote
Ellisss_2 Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Nice logo, good look with yor MOC series, I'm looking forward to seeing it! Quote
JDbricks Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Very well done, great logo. I like the hair you used for Luke. looking forward to your MOC series. Quote
ecmo47 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Looks great but why doesn't Leia have any pants/skirt on? Quote
RetroInferno Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Because in the drawing this is inspired from she was not wearing any. Quote

Khaled Yousef Posted February 1, 2017 Author Posted February 1, 2017 Thank you guys for the comments; I’m glad you liked it. Elisss: you won’t be disappointed; I’ve got a couple of heavy weight MOCs coming up. JDbricks: Glad you liked the hair; its custom painted in dark tan to match the source material. RetroInferno & VaderFan2187: thanks for clarifying the missing pants issue, so that people don’t think I’m a pervert or something. Back in the Seventies, women didn’t wear pants anyway, I mean, I don’t know for sure, but looking at the original poster from 1977 it seems to be the case. I wish Leia was wearing this outfit from the poster in the movie. Quote

Haha! That poster is very iconic and I remember it quite clearly. P.S. you'll need a new torso print for Luke, if that's the case Quote

duboismerci Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Very nice! Maybe give Leia a snowtrooper kama to stop that missing pant mini controversy :P Quote

Khaled Yousef Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 atlas: no you’re not; maybe I wasn’t joking, because in my dreams they usually don’t. My Leia is causing quite a scene with those sexy legs. I thought about using AreaLight’s loincloth piece in white, but I don’t have one. A Snowtrooper kama (thanks duboismerci) sounds like a good alternative, though it would be a shame to hide those sexy plastic things. (Great, now people are sure I’m a pervert) VaderFan: maybe the muscular torso from the Indiana Jones German mechanic, but it would still need more work with a tunic on the shoulders and arms, so I thought to make a cross-over with the poster from the LEGO Star Wars II videogame. I wanted to stop working on the logo as soon as possible and start finishing the big MOCs coming up. Quote
Khaled Yousef Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 ... and for all them shy members who couldn't look at Leia without pants; here is the update with a nice slightly revealing skirt thanks duboismerci for suggesting the snowtrooper kama, this inspired me to use the skirt from the CMF Greek goddess with a slight trim to the edge. legofives Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Reminded me of the cover art right away, and the updated version looks even better. Quote
