Stories tell of an imperial ship transporting an infamous pirate to trial that ran into a freak storm and was wrecked. In a twist of fate, all hands were lost, save their prisoner. Rising from the depths of the wreck like the devil himself, he frightened the wits out of two fishermen who had come to investigate. Forcing them to help remove his treasure from the ship and bury it, he then slaughtered them and escaped in their boat. As the years passed, the tale faded from memory and other settlers took up residence on the island. Still, ever so often drunken sailors in dim taverns would ramble on about finding the map that would lead them to eternal riches…

A few more pictures from different angles on my flickr account - please feel free to view them (https://www.flickr.com/gp/92675222@N06/u00010). C&Cs very much welcome of course, my first "islandy" build. Very much inspired by the many great builds and builders here on Eurobricks :)

Very nice island, great work with the beach and the rock also!  The broken ship looks really neat too, though it must have rode an awfully big wave to get all the way up there!  The hut looks great and the hanging sharks are funny! :pir-grin:

I love this build! The beach and rockwork are excellent, but it's the details like the sabers on the hut's door and the fish hanging from the pole that really make the build.

I've been a bit slack in responding, but thank you all for your kind words - as mentioned my first "islandy piratey" build, so it's nice to know it works for everyone else too :)

what I absolutely enjoy in this build, is the fact that it is so complete on its own...

It feels like if a survivor arrives at this island, he will enjoy a different adventure every day...

Also the execution is top-notch! the rockwork, beach, ... it seems so perfect!

I checked out your flickr feed. How did you get the dog helper to look so lifelike?

Seriously, your landscaping is top notch.  The effort and skill put in shows through, and the story is a nice compliment to it.  I of course hope there is a follow-up.

Well... white bricks. Plenty of white bricks. Oh and some yellowing ones too

Beautiful island.  The whole scene is excellent but the rockwork and wrecked ship especially look good. The strip of sand gives it really good depth and overall it looks like a great play piece. Good work.
