jonfett Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Ok, so you may think that I am a little cruel to be posting this in the 'Humor and Fun' section, but anyway.. A funfight with homemade lightsabres has left two Star Wars fans fighting for their lives after their "toys" exploded.Mark Webb, 20, and an unnamed 17-year-old girl filled fluorescent light tubes with petrol to recreate the famous lightsabres and filmed their mock battle in woodland at Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, on Sunday evening. But tragedy struck when one of the lightsabres exploded and the pair were rushed to hospital.. More info here. So really this is just a warning to anyone who thinks that:- 1) Lightsabers are real :| 2) Petrol + Sparks = Fun! >-| But at least this pair weren't trying to re-create Anakin and Obi-wans fight on Mustafar ;) (sp.?) ...the volcano planet for those who have not seen Episode 3. Jon. Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 ROFL !!!! Thanks Jon for sharing this little fan stupidity!!!!!! Next time silly Megablocks, use the PLASTIC crappy ones :D :D Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 24, 2005 Governor Posted May 24, 2005 A funfight with homemade lightsabres has left two Star Wars fans fighting for their lives after their "toys" exploded.Mark Webb, 20, and an unnamed 17-year-old girl filled fluorescent light tubes with petrol to recreate the famous lightsabres and filmed their mock battle in woodland at Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, on Sunday evening. But tragedy struck when one of the lightsabres exploded and the pair were rushed to hospital.. What idiots... Serves them right. Wasn't there a rumour during the filming of Episode I that Ewan McGregor burn himself on his lightsabre? I'm sure I saw that on a documentary a while back. Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Those idiots made a video of it :-D That I want to see!!!! Here is another article found ...... on CNN: http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/0...abre/index.html Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 25, 2005 Governor Posted May 25, 2005 Explosive Fuel + Glass = very dangerous Couldn't the fools have found those battery powered glow sticks? Or at least went and got those tacky toy light sabres... Really... These people are wasting time, money and resources with their stupid games. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Why is this in the humour section? I don't find this humourous at all, being as that they didn't do their stupid explode thing near my city. People got hurt, it's not a funny matter. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 25, 2005 Governor Posted May 25, 2005 Yes, innocent people with nothing to do this incident could have been injured because of what these inconsiderate and insolent fools were doing. Wow! 4 words starting with "I" in the one sentence. Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Actually, Phes, it's 5 words. :-D Anyways, I also agree that this is not humourous, but had a bad influence on the community. What if that happens again? I hope it doesn't happen again, yet alone having this "stunt-gone-wrong" happen already. They should have known better than that. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 25, 2005 Governor Posted May 25, 2005 IIIIIIIIIIIK!!! Indeed it is... But I believe I left out "incompetent" and "idiotic" They better have learnt their lesson. Quote
