Is there any alternative to this for EV3?

The HiTechnic IRLink does not work with EV3 LabView since the EV3 Software has been upgraded. ( From Hi T Tech support)

I'm not sure I want to switch to RobotC just to get the capability of EV3 wirelessly operating Power Functions with the IR Receiver.
