Impressive my Pharao friend, most impressive !!!!!!

Tks for the pics Sne ;)

Great mods there !!!!!!! From what I see I don't think that every jsf is identical !!!!!!!!!

Nice color patterns and shape ;)

You should create a Shelf gallery with pics from every jsf, that would be cool !!!!!

thanks, Yoda. there are four types:

1 awacs (the one with the green disc)

2 weasels

4 updated fighters (white/tan/brown/medium blue)

4 normal fighters (purple/dark red/blue/yellow)

i need to complete them with parts i've ordered from bricklink. the tiles and the engines, for instance, still need some work...

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY! Those are awesome! Heh, now that you said that you got the parts from Bricklink, did you have the designs laid out in your head before, or did you make them up as you went along? Because I tell ya, no matter what way you took to build them, it takes a real master to see those combinations! Nice!

thanks for these kind words, KMOI

1) i'm still waiting for a few parts. i'll probably add just small details in the future.

2) I very often start with a certain structure in mind and see how it goes... in this case, TLC released the yellow starfighter. i modified that one (there are pics of it on this forum somewhere), than i thought "it still looks like a thing you only fly on a Sunday, far away from any danger, just to enjoy flying around. so why not create a real fighter version out of this? that's what i did. i got rid of the flashy yellow, turned everything into shades of grey... and added a couple of things...

I followed the same procedure for my snowspeeder (see pic). i started with tlc's model, and changed the things i didn't like. the good thing about this, is that you have 60-70% of all the parts if you buy the official model, you then have to rely upon your own collection of parts and/or buy the rest at bricklink...

3) i very often follow a few principles when i'm building small models:

a) i try to turn every craft into an individual craft by using different shades of grey. it indicates that some parts of the craft have been replaced by another because of an accident in the past, whatever...

b) i try to give different craft different colors, as if the pilot himself chose to fly around with a white wing or a red wing,... sometimes i use parts in the same color as the craft's color, for instance, i gave the white fighter white guns instead of grey guns. the pilot wanted to have white guns... it just makes your model more credible... i like my models to be that way. it also happens in the real world of airplanes, btw

c) i try to build multifunctional craft. after all, these machines will be so expensive that we simply won't be able to buy many different types; one fighter should be able to do everything, or lots of things in any case.

d) parts also have to be compatible with parts of other types; after all, you won't always have a supply ship or a depot in the vicinity of your base, so you'll need to take parts from other ships from time to time ...

hope that answers your question...

Those are some interesting ideas!

Your thoughts of replacement parts and such things are even for the Star Wars universe a bit "too realistic" (you'll find this mentallity maybe in the Outer Rim), it's almost the space counterpart of a Mad Max / Waterworld like universe...

Nonetheless a really creative idea...

I do not really like the look of the one with the green X-Pod dish, maybe because the red parts are a bit too different to the green parts...

And why is there always only a single front wing colored? This somehow doesn't look right to me, it gives the feeling that it was PLANNED to make the ship's coloring looking UNPLANNED... *wacko* Or are there other reasons for this?

the green disc ship is the weirdo of the family... in real life, you cannot always have great looking ships/cars/... to do a specific job. many specialised airplanes today are ugly, but do the job they're supposed to do. that was also the idea behind this design... the other larger craft are also quite strange... that's just reality stepping in and telling me that a ferrari cannot be a sports car, family car and a truck at the same time... i will even add new (green) sensor packages to the awacs craft, making it even uglier :P :P It has a green disc because you cannot always chose the color of the sensors. sometimes, sensors demand certain unpainted types of materials, in this case, it has to be green. it has to be green, because i will add another "sensor boom" with lots of "blade antennea" (part x56) (and these only come in green); personnaly, i don't know why they're using these things, i only know that they do (in my universe, anyway)

at first, i was going for the two wings... unfortunately, i do not have wings (pairs) in all these colors. yeah... you got me there, buddy :P however, the US air forces used to apply their "stars 'n bars" on different sides of opposite wings... so, it's not unusual to have assymetrical decorations, but it's not particularly standard procedure either. i'm also not eager to use too many colors, because it makes these craft too lively...

there's also the question of visibilty. too many colors will put you in a disadvantageous position in a fight...
