I am new to LDD and have a very basic question that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere.  When I try to place bricks next to each other (in a row), they seem to "snap" either under or on top of the adjacent brick.  How can I get them placed next to each other (touching, on the same level, but not connected)?  Apologies in advance for the newbie question with what must be a very easy answer.

Welcome!

LDD prefers to snap parts when it can. To avoid this, you have to be looking at the parts the right way (straight at them).

Or you can use other bricks (tiles, baseplates…) to help you place your bricks by connecting them to these “helpers” which you’ll delete once done (for complex placement, it’s called “scaffolding”).
