The "Orange Herring" is a famous tavern...

.. and usually quite crowded.

Thick smoke from many cigars is blurring the sight - of a poker game.

That strange Marquis from Oleon was not much of a talker, but he could play extremely well.

The dubloons were soon piling up next to the Marquis.

Captain Cookie was watching in amazement...

.. while cavern keeper Barry the Bald was eyeing whether a fight was about to break out - or not.

C&C Welcome!

(I have not decided yet where the Orange Herring is located. Any suggestions? I might license it right there.)

A few more pics and larger versions can be found in the corresponding flickr album.

This is very intreguing :D

the marquis looks strange indeed, some may even suspect him being a monkey :o

I really love the colours and vibrant atmosphere :)

it would fit Elysabethtown if interested :)

When I saw the pictures my initial thought was that the colour-scheme seemd rather appropriate for Nova Terreli than for Pontelli. With your final question it makes sense.

I love the first picture, that facade and all looks fantastic. And the roof has so many details to love.

(One might wonder, though, whether Oleanders should feel insulted or honoured by the Marquis' true identity...)

Really nice build with excellent colors and bustling as usual! It faintly reminds me of the upcoming yummy fishing shack from lego ideas...!

Now give me these dark tan plates! muhahahaha!

A monkey?  A decent nobleman?  Who would think of that? :pir-laugh:

The roof is a strange piece of "lego evolution". In the end it somewhat worked out. (I wanted to use those large slopes, that is how it started.)

And it could be Nova Terreli.

(I think that the guys just assume that the Marquis is from Oleon. He probably has not said so.)

Thanks - yes I am using different colours this time.

Are dark tan plates so rare nowadays?

Great tavern! The roof design is unique, and I like it! Great color usage, and I always like the activity and detail of your interiors. Excellent build inside and out!

Thank you, sir!

I wonder why there is no monkey in the picture...

Great tavern ! I like the roofing made of those large slopes pieces.

The Marquis seems to have some common ancestors with Alberto da Pontelli's assistant... Perhaps he is a cousin...

Good job !

Good tavern.  Interesting colour scheme and services.  The monkey appears to be a card shark.

And so I have learned a new English term.

But where do you spot a monkey? I can only see a bunch of card players. :pir-grin:

Thanks.

This time I wanted to have a tavern that looks good from the outside and is interesting from the inside.

Where the devil does that yellow parrot come from, is that a custom piece?

I checked the parrot. Seems to be custom. Has been in my parrot box for many years.

The Marquis? Do you think so?

George da Pontelli wearing a wig?

Cannot be!
