don leopold Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) Previously story : Port of Barqa This is the old church of Norvica and it was build a long time ago by free slaves and most of them were born in the Lowlands. The little village of Norvica is adjacent on the oil road somewhere between Barqa and Mophet. This must be the church were Abdel Harbori, the commander of harbour guard, was talking about with the two brothers Michael and Leopold in the port of Barqa. When the brother hear about the name of the village Norvica they were very glad because their own village in the Lowlands was called Norvicus !! "This must be the place we are looking for !!" said Michael "I hope that we can find our father in that village or at least someone who know something about him !!" The two brother are planning a trip to Norvica and i think their quest is going to have a happy end, because they do not known that the priest of the old church of Norvica is called "Brother Conelus" and the name of their father they remember is "Cornel" Look on Flickr for more pictures !! TitusV Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 This is a really cool build, the colour-scheme is definitely Kaliphlin, and the rockwork is very nive. I also love the building, overall a pretty awesome job Quote
Henjin_Quilones Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 This is spectacular! The highlight for me is the roof, as that technique works great for tiles, and your color choice is perfect. The patchwork in the walls, and the overall way that you managed to create a worn-down building, is excellent as well. Another detail that stands out for me is the wheelwell curve over the windows; great use of that! Very impressive. The only thing I can think to critique is the trees, as they seem a bit sparse, but perhaps in that climate that is as lush as they come. I'm also not a huge fan of the flower stalks-as-grass, as the regular green does not quite fit the palette you have created in the rest of the build. Otherwise, this is a fantastic build. Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Very nice little chapel, the bits of light grey texture look great and I really like the color the roof adds! Nice work on the landscaping too! Quote
Slegengr Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Great build, don leopold! The stone showing through the plaster is well built and gives a very interesting and aged effect! The color scheme is perfect for Kaliphlin, though the landscaping seems like it could fit in locations of any guild. The bell is a nice detail! This definitely reminds me of real early monasteries built in the Americas. Quote
Leonardo da Bricki Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Wonderful build! The exposed stone has a great effect, reminds me of some of the California missions. All you need are some prickly pear cactus! Quote
en_zoo Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 hehe nice short story ^^ and as I said on Flickr: I really like the way you've textured only some parts of the wall. I reckon it's the first time I see that and it gives a really nice plaster-falling-down effect! ^^ Quote
Blufiji Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Nice choice of color for the church, really has that old spanish/mediterranian feel. I also like the design of the irregular base. You can tell you put alot of effort into the overall design. Quote
Jellyeater Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Lovely building. I love small churches. Why photos are so small? Quote
makoy Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 I like the blending of red, dark red and occasional black colours of the roof. Very well done MOC. Quote
Legofin2012 Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 A great little build, the colours and all the details are fantastic! The crumbling look works well, and the landscaping is very well done. Kinda agree with HQ about the grass, but that aside, great work! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 1x1 round brick roofs look so beautiful when done properly Excellent windows and floorplan for the church as well. Add that to an excellent landscape, and you have quite the MOC! Quote
Mpyromaxos Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Beautiful church with very nice ground texture and usage of colours! I like the fig also! What to you use to dress him? Quote
MaasEffekt Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 I like the colors very much! Nice build! Quote
