11010 The One Ring

I mean to pose a simple question. Is there any possibility of ever getting part # 11010, the rings from The Lord of The Rings theme in any color other than gold. For my preference black would be best but any of the drab colors (black, gray, etc. ) would be ridiculously useful. It just seems like the kind of part Lego's master builders would have found more uses for it to have been included in sets in other colors by now. 

 

Of course I could go after-market, even have a reasonable facsimile 3D printed myself, but it would be a poor substitute for having an actual Lego in matching colors and materials. (Yes even I care about that from time to time.)

If LEGO were to release it in a non-chromed color they would probably have to create a new mold for it. LEGO uses different molds for chromed and non-chromed parts because the chrome layer adds a slight thickness that would throw off the tolerances and make the connections too loose if the same parts were released without that additional layer.
