snefroe Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) Seen this? it's pretty nice. Many of these larger castles become so big that it kinda loses the playability of a Lego moc. This however still feels like a lego set... even though pretty large, sure the rest of the folder Edited January 10, 2008 by snefroe Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted January 10, 2008 Eurobricks Emperor Posted January 10, 2008 This is pure beauty! All these details... it must have taken a lot of time to build this MOC. Fantastic find !!! Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Wow, that looks excellent, I especially love brickbuilt rock formations. Definately a sleek looking castle. Quote
WarnIcarus Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Did you see the maker's attempt at brickbuilt longbows? I also really like his tower tops. Quote
El Bucanero Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Not as big, but the resemblance is amazing! Most beautiful Lord of the Rings MOC I've ever seen. Excellent! Quote
Nyundi Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I've spent quite a lot of time trying to concoct a micro scale Minas Tirith with no luck (so far). I'll be sure to share if I can ever manage to get one with all 7 (?) levels in it *wacko* Quote
SlyOwl Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 This is great! However, Minas Tirith being so large in the books and films, it is obviously nearly impossible (and pointless) to try and build the whole thing. He's abridged it well... I love the Osgiliath decals, and the signpost, although I feel the very minimalistic and poorly built White Tree lets it down. A more detailed beacon (is there even one?) would be nice too, and a comic scene with the flaming Denethor jumping off the peak would improve it, in my eyes. That said, it's fantastically built, too much to take in. SlyOwl Quote
TheFrisian Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 What a wonderful MOC! Trying to build Minas Tirith in a somewhat realistic minifig scale would be nearly impossible, but the builder really captured the essence in this scaled down version. I love the smooth finish of the walls and the overall architecture and some of the roofs in particular are superb. And on top of that, it still looks like its very playable. Kudos tot the builder! *sweet* Quote
illspace Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Did you see the maker's attempt at brickbuilt longbows? I also really like his tower tops. I also liked the bows, are there any other creative ways of making longbows as I am new to this? Quote
Omega 8 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 (edited) Truly amazing. The sheer amount of bricks is mind blowing! His technique is simply beautiful.... Perhaps the finest MOC I've seen of any kind. Edited January 11, 2008 by Omega 8 Quote
Wout Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 In one word Terriffic. I find the traffic signs also very nice done. Quote
yoda601 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Hmm, as a casual movie-goer I can tell it's nowhere near to scale, but it's very nice. Quote
hewkii9 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Wow wow wow. Astuanax has some skills, I must say. I love all the detail, and how he managed to cram all the book's stuff into it. I like it. Quote
