Tomsche Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Well, there are things you just *have* to build if it's in your area of intrest, and this moc mosaic is just one of those things. As a humongous fan of the works of Tolkien, I just couldn't resist trying my hand at the iconic "logo" of J. R. R. Tolkien's work, the stylised letters that adorn the sides of all his books. It's build on a 32x32 plate, and can now serve as the lovely background for whatever moc, vignette or display I'm taking along to conventions, and the fact those mosaics are dead easy to transport and set up is a great bonus. Hope you like it! Quote
BobThePom Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Well done! It's very iconic and instantly recognizable! Quote

Csc167 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I like both of these! Now, if we can just make them give up the rights to the silmarillion Quote
Tomsche Posted September 4, 2016 Author Posted September 4, 2016 That map is great! My "wildest dream" is that once all my set displays have been finished, to actually make a huge map where they all fit in. But that's a project for the coming decennium or so, the kid first has to move out of the house so I can claim his room for that  Quote
BrickCurve Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Great job! Its instantly recognisable! I really like you choice of background colour, it works surprisingly well. Quote
AmperZand Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Very cool monogram, Tomsche! I'm also a big JRRT fan. I have quite a few LotR minifigures, monsters and scenery in my LEGO display collection. When I was a student, I used to go to the pub where Tolkien and CS Lewis used to meet just because it was Professor T's favourite. Quote
