jhaelego Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Hey everyone! I'm new to this side of the forums(usually in the Star Wars section), but I'd like to a share an In-N-Out burger MOC that I recently made. I was inspired by the one I'm sure most of you have seen floating around the internet recently. I wanted to to give it modular dimensions, however, so it could fit in with the rest of the modulars. Now let's check out some pics. Sorry for the cell phone camera quality. AmericaLego Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 This is amazing!! In-N-Out is the best. I really like the detail put into this moc. I like the ordering line and the soda machine. Also that Star Wars scene is well placed. Overall great job on this! Quote
BimmerBoy Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 To be honest, it doesn't fit in with the official Lego modulars, but it looks great on its own! I've got a modular style Lego Store built and I'm working on a Trader Joe's for a strip mall project. This In-n-Out would fit in with that wonderfully. Well done! Quote
tkatt Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Great work. The scenes you've set up are a lot of fun. I think if you had a drive-thru lane between it and the Detective agency they would fit together just fine. But I'm guessing your last photo doesn't represent a permenant setup and is just included to give us a sense of scale. Thanks for doing that, I like seeing custom modulars next to the official ones, especially when the build isn't on standard 16 or 32 wide baseplate. It helps me envision buildings I'd like for my own set up. Quote
Vindicare Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) Wow! This is fantastic. Every necessary detail is in here. You really captured the look & feel of the restaraunt. In(side)-N-Out(side). Edited August 26, 2016 by Vindicare Quote
Bricknblue Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 I love it! The guy in the tan suit outside looks like Steve Harvey! Quote
Miro78 Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Is it just me or all of the In-N-Out restaurants have the identical interior layout. Very nicely done. A lot of details crammed inside. Your Green Grocer with the sand green masonry bricks turned out nice too. No worries with cell phone pictures. My cell phone quality is better than my old camera, but proper lighting will do wonders. I now take all of my pictures on my balcony in daylight, usually in the morning before the sun comes up over the hill. Ideal situation is when the sky is covered in light cloud layer to naturally scatter light for me. Miro Quote
jhaelego Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 I love it! The guy in the tan suit outside looks like Steve Harvey! Haha he totally does. And yeah they do Miro. Made creating Lego model pretty straight forward though, haha. That's a good a idea. I would like to eventually invest in some studio style lights to produce more quality images for these models I make. Quote
Miro78 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 (edited) I would like to eventually invest in some studio style lights to produce more quality images for these models I make. I have seen a few web pages on easy hacks on how to make a light box using a white fabric sheet with lights behind them to scatter the light. The box frame can be made out of just about whatever you may already have (cardboard box, sticks, Lego). I believe you just need some specialty light bulbs that produce a proper light spectrum. I am just being lazy and using the natural light in the morning. The sun produces the best light spectrum in my opinion. I mostly adjust for exposure (usually underexposed) and adjust the cast (iPhone) to a warmer tone as often my photos get a cooler bluish cast, probably from improper white balance. There are various iPhone apps that allow for more manual control settings, I have used Pure Shot on my iPhone. The biggest problem I find is low light problems and fisheye distortion effect. At some point I will break down and get a proper DSLR. MIro Edited August 29, 2016 by Miro78 Quote
