We'll only get a scum card if Edward or you were lying about what you were given and there really aren't any more town cards in the deck. I would find that highly unlikely given that no one has proposed trying to fail three governments to draw the next two cards off the deck.

... or if Patricia doesn't play along.

A mafia policy has been passed!

This means that the current mayor can choose the next mayor. He must do so in this thread, not through PM.

So this means that either at least one of Christina and Patricia is mafia, or at least one of Michael and Edward is mafia and discarded a town card.

Christina, I advise you to choose Lindsey as tomorrow's mayor.

All I can say is I received two mafia cards, do either Fhommes is scum and has discarded a town card or got 3 mafia cards. The latter seems unlikely though.

I did indeed get 3 mafia cards. Edward or Michael are scum. I lean towards Edward.

Lindsey for Mayor! Not sure how to bold from my phone.

This is weird, right? I feel like this is weird.

Is that all you can come up with? Not making up an investigation result or something? Are you even trying to appear town?

Hm, this is bad. So it's between Edward, Michael and Christina. Either way, Lindsey should be fine, we'll see who she picks for TCC. I suggest not Ralph, obviously. Also none of those three. And I guess you are going to pick neither Anne nor me, even though I know we are both town. So it's between Eric and Scott?

That's 3 people added to my suspicious list. I think on day 7 I should choose Eric as TTC. I doubt he was given 2 town cards on day 5. If he was given 2 town cards Michael would have said something. He had a choice between mafia and town and he picked town.

You've forgotten about me :hmpf_bad: To be honest, I wouldn't suggest Scott as he's been AFK for four game days, which is quite a few weeks now. I would say it's between Eric and myself.

Didn't he say that already? I think that's a good choice, although I'd prefer myself obviously, as I don't know Eric's alignment for certain.

I did, sorry about that. It's because I still think you were the set-up for Ralph so he could investigate me and you could put the allegiance of Anne, our only confirmed townie, into question. But you were (and still are) a more valid choice then any of the others (I'd like to exclude myself and Anne, for obvious reasons, but I guess others don't see it the same).

Oh right. I'm kind of annoyed with this style of game, where there's no way of confirming or refuting suspicions save the kill action that the Mayor gets late in the game, when the mafia are probably going to win anyway......

Well, even the kill action doesn't confirm the allegiance of the dead. It only tells you if the dead person was the godfather, because the game ends if this is the case. And it gives us some hard info, but not a whole lot of that.

My concern is that the lies could literally be anywhere. All the way back on day one we decided that 2 scum cards had been discarded, but it's quite possible 1 town card was discarded that day. My point being that our calculations could have been thrown off pretty much any day we were told a scum card was discarded.

Posted

But it was me doing the calculations. And I know what I threw out. So my numbers were certain.

Think about it.

If I were scum and drew two town cards and a scum, surely, first round I'd send through the two towns and get in good with the town? I'd also pick the GF straight up, since first mayor rarely gets challenge over their choice of TCC and has the best odds of town draws (unless there are some 3 scum draws which screw the odds).

No one has made any good case for why I'd toss a town card blind, since even if I sent through two, the other gets tossed anyway. And if I wanted to be scummy, assuming I did draw two towns and a scum, I'd pass two towns and sadly announce the third was town also, which would screw up the odds calculations just as much and clear the way for a later scum buddy to toss a town card blind and not be challenged on it.

If I sent through a town and a scum card I'm town, regardless of whether I drew two towns and scum or two scum and a town. It's sending through two of the same that's the scummy action.

Go on, come up with a logical, reasonable play for me to have done both what is known that I did plus what is being assumed I did as well as my being scum. I tell you, it won't hold up.

Ok.

We have had six mayors.

Two of them must have discarded a town card.

Joshua and Ralph between them likely discarded one.

Which leaves

Edward(me), Lindsey(Kscary), Michael(jluck) and Christina(fhomess).

Lindsey claims she passed two towns. (Though Patricia didn't directly confirm that!) If she discarded a town, that'd mean a three town draw, which for that day would have been a one in fourteen chance. Unlikely.

I laid out why it wasn't me in the previous post.

So either Michael or Christina. Both of them point half heartedly at me.

My argument for it not being Michael is much the same not being me. If he drew two towns and punted one to give (town) Erik the choice, that's more or less the same as handing over the two town cards.

If it is Michael, Eric is probably scum too.

But I think it's Christina. This is the second time Patricia has been given no choice, it feels like she was set up to be a patsy for Christina. That's my take. I'm gonna go back over previous days and look again.

Feel free to do the same.

Not necessarily, a scum mayor, particularly on the first day, would want to appear town. So if he were to get two scum cards and a town card he would discard the scum card to look town and if he were to get two town cards and a scum card he would discard the scum.card to look town.
