Brainbox Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 So, yeah, what did 2007 mean to you? What are the moments you'll remember, the thibngs that had a personal effect on you. Nothing too depressing though. ;-) For me, I guess the highlights were: Starting college, and meeting possibly my best friends yet. Lego minifig Bane. Heroes being shown on UK terrestrial TV. The return of the Master in Doctor Who. Becoming more established as a 'prominent' member of EB (thanks guys). So what about you? Quote
captaintau Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 LEGO-wise: - AT-AT for Christmas, bought for me by Mrs Tau - Republic Cruiser - Venturing outside licence themes (bought several Aqua Raiders sets) - Becoming an EB Fellow (thanks, guys, it really does mean a lot) Non-LEGO: - Temporary promotion in works, though this both a highlight and a lowlight - 4th Dan Jujitsu, so now I wear teh black-and-gold belt - Sailed through my recent Taekwondo grading - Became a world champion in Kata performance at a great championships in which I met some great fellow Martial Artists. Most of us resigned from the organisation on the last day. Huge fun That's all that springs to mind, but there will be other things. Quote
ExoBuilder Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Well..... I got out of my Dark ages in the beginning of January 06. I got the 8654 Ferrari Racing Truck for Christmas! *wub* Became a Count on Eurobricks, the place I came to love in the month of September. Started a nice collection of Lego sets. Improved on my MOCing abilities! :-D Made some great friends here on Eurobricks! *y* That's all I can think of right now. ;-) Quote

SirNadroj Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) Hmmm... good question: LEGO: Many new sets, some good, some horrible Many MOCs :-D My acceptance to Builder's Lounge Customization of minifigures commenced Non-LEGO: Nothing special, really, but toward the beginning of the year, even into the end of 06', my brother was in the hospital for weeks and weeks, on and off. Quacks couldn't get it right! |-/ I think he;s OK now. ;-) That's about it, pretty quiet overall. Edited January 1, 2008 by SirNadroj Quote
Matn Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 That I'm building MOC's, meeting new friend, registered on Eurobricks, a lot of new, great sets. Like somebody mentioned: the fact that Heroes was on TV (and it will go on soon). The best serie ever. Quote
TheFrisian Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Getting a new job, the passing away of my stepfather, and last but not least: joining the Eurobricks community. Quote
SlyOwl Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 (edited) Me... Lego: -2007 marks my first real involvement in any online communities: at the beginning of the year, I thoroughly moderated my BS and removed all the bad models on there (most of them :-$ ). Then, my Animals folder won great acclaim (in my eyes back then) by having some of its occupants reviewed on Classic Castle after being found by one of the members in January-ish time. I continued with my animals (almost solely) for the next few months, before grabbing a BSB and Enchanted Island in June. Before August, I didn't do many serious MOCs; just a lot of Brikwars with my re-discovered pirates. At the beginning of August, I was residing at Brickset, using the ample forums there to discuss the Great BS Saga (what do you call it?). However, when they closed the forums down, I moved on - for a while I floated here and there, just browsing without accounts. Then, after summoning up the courage to ignore the over-18 warnings, I joined EB, mainly for the Pirate Halloween contest. My confidence had taken a boost in that my Legosaurus Brix had been reviewed both here and on Classic Castle, independantly. Winning both the Pirate Halloween contest and How Do You Kill A Skeleton? contest was great for me...and here I am...I also began using Bricklink more and so buying specifically for MOCs. I discovered new techniques in vignettes and...well, yeah, that's about it... :-) Non-Lego: -My mind's rather hazy about it now, but I had to make GCSE choices, do my SATs and I participated in the Nihongo Cup, a national Japanese speaking competition. I won third prize and an electronic dictionary in the Key Stage 3 category. First prize was a laptop |-/ Read more here! I'm third from the left in the front row. Gah, that's nearly it, although I've had a rocky-time with my once best-friend (I 've got none now :-( ) and been thoroughly invaded by small cousins in large quantities.. |-/ I think he;s OK now. ;-) What was wrong with him? yoda601 Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 2007 for me was growing up, getting my act together, meeting new people, having good times with my friends, and, sadly, letting go of LEGO. But its still stashed away in my cupboard :P No place to build. Quote
Lasse D Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 My 2007 LEGO-highlights: - Became member of "Byggepladen", a Danish LEGO-community after meeting an old friend from there in here! - Most busy MOC'ing year in my life with a lot of new Model Team trucks, but also City stuff, GBC and what I found interesting. - Most expensive LEGO year in my life with about my weight in new LEGO sets and parts. - Introduction to NXT and programming a lot on it. - It was the first year I participated in LEGO-events, both as a helper and builder. I would call 2007 the strongest year for LEGO ever and my favorite in general when it comes to LEGO. ... and 2008 looks even more promising! Quote
