Hi all,

I started this MOC quite a while ago, and finished it a while ago as well. I really had to rush finishing it to make a deadline for the Summer Joust, as one of Team Avalonia's members was unable to participate, so there are a few features I'm not completely satsified with. I had planned to fix these at some point and take nicer, unrushed pictures, but a ridiculously busy schedule has pushed it too far back. Since my son has now played with this MOC and disassembled it as he is known to do, I figured I should just post the pictures as they are, since I can't do much to change them. Anyway, C&C is appreciated as always. I hope you enjoy!

Edit: A short story will be added later about the troops marching towards Nocturnus to aid those in need.

Wow looks great! Really captures the marketplace feel with all the food stands and the buildings make a good backdrop. Also excellent foliage on the tree and npu on the crutches.

A very lively, very Avalonian scene. I particularly like the use of the ball joints on the roofs; it is practical and creates a sense of detail. The firewood cart is also quite nice. My favorite element of it is probably the little wall around the tree built of small stones; you did a great job with curving that. Some more texture to the ground, either cobblestones or just some more layers of dirt, might have made it a bit more eye-catching. Nonetheless, I think it looks great.

Great job, especially in the hurry we were for the contest. I like all the houses (Nice NPU on the handles of the door of the utter left house, to pick a detail), but I also like all the minifigs!

Nice one. I really like the wall texture on the houses and the use of those joints on the roof.

A couple of things could be improved, such as the texturing on the ground near the stalls. Adding some 1 x 2 plates would really break it up a bit and make it appear more natural. Some more flower stems would help as well.

An irregular base would work really well here in my opinion, though it can be hard to get a strong one without using a lot of plates.

Last thing, the tree is a bit flat, adding some more leaves to the top would really improve it.

Overall, great build!

The crutches and mixel joint uses are very clever  Good color choices for the houses, and I like the large number of vendor stands in the marketplace.

The tree with surrounding wall is a great finishing touch to add to the Avalonian look :classic:

Great build! I like the background houses, they are all recognizeably similar but the small details like the crutches as hinges and the varied colors make them unique. I really like the tree too, but it does kind of block view of the middle house.

Looks so great!! I Love the houses as they create a really Nice background!

I agree about the beautiful tree though, it feels a little big and hides the white house

Fantastic MOC, I really love the idea of just showing the facades. Also the marketplace and the whole scene are full of life, great to look at.

I would have loved to see it with a non-white background, though. Some light blue or light grey could have added some more contrast and put more focus on the actual MOC.

The houses are very colorful, and make a nice background for the market. The market scene is also very lively. I also like the crutches on the door and the stone circle around the tree. I can't wait to read the story about the soldiers marching to Nocturnus.
