Vader Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Ok after i noticed that fbtb had a few new avaters available i decided to email there creator and ask him for permission for us to use them also, heres what he said: AshThanks for writing. feel free to use whatever avatars you want on your site. I'm trying to share them with all the star wars community, so pass the word that they are available for anyone's use. The only thing I forbid is for people to make any money off the images. Printing them on buttons, stickers, etc. will get me in a lot of trouble and is a big legal no-no. Other than that, put them on your website. Only I ask that you credit me with the art on your site and put a link to my personal website at My Webpage That's it! Have fun! jeff So there you have it folks feel free to use them but please abide by jeff's wishes, below are just two examples of his work for more visit his site at the link above. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 10, 2005 Governor Posted May 10, 2005 Well they sure are cute little critters! However, I have objections to using other people's art even with their permission. I'd prefer to create my own and in fact I have created my own. But I am curious to how he drew this wonderful caricatures. Was it on paper first then scanned or drawn straight into a computer? Quote
Vader Posted May 10, 2005 Author Posted May 10, 2005 Im afraid thats a question that you will have to ask him, i dont know him personnaly. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 10, 2005 Governor Posted May 10, 2005 I don't know the bugger either or how to contact him. Oh wells... Next Question... Second image, top right and bottom right caricatures - which characters are these suppose to resemble? Quote
Vader Posted May 10, 2005 Author Posted May 10, 2005 His email address is: jefvictor@hotmail.com Quote
DoubleT Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Well its great images, but i think fbtb started to use them, and if we started to use them we would seem like copycats... Vader im wondering, why aint it greviuos ;) Oh and I made my own new avatar *satis* Quote
Vader Posted May 10, 2005 Author Posted May 10, 2005 I think your avater looks great DT :) As for Grevious well he will no doubt return when im fed up with my current avater ;) As for copying fbtb, well it could be seen that way but Jeff was eager for all fans of star wars to use them and not just one perticular website. eDeevo Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 I like the uniqueness of making ones own avatar... The fbtb ones are pretty nifty though (and they have much more than just Star Wars ;) ). As a proponent of free choice, I figure if someone wants to use them its fine with me... I adhere to to the "to each his own" theory :-D Life is Good. Quote
languages Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 I have loved jeff victors art for a long time. I would also agree that we should have his pictures as avatars. I like the Lord of the Rings pictures... Quote
jonfett Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Good work Vader, I really like all of Jeff Victors characters and they will look great as avatars. But I woud prefer my own unique avatar for now, I think that personal ones are better at showing the persons character and interests. Jon. Quote
Khorne Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 I don't know the bugger either or how to contact him. Oh wells... Next Question... Second image, top right and bottom right caricatures - which characters are these suppose to resemble? The blue-like guy is Lott Dodd and the Jedi-like guy is probably ROTJ end Anakin(but I'm not sure |-/ ) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 11, 2005 Governor Posted May 11, 2005 Lott Dodd? Who is that? Is that EU or some secondary character from the movies that only appears in one frame? The second suppose to depict Sebastian Shaw - who is now replaced with Hayden Christensen or however the dude spells his name... Quote
