MagPiesRUs Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Here's a quick MOC I made for Christmas. It's of the Christmas truce between the Allies and the Germans on the western front in 1914 on Christmas. There's a good movie I'd reccomend about it called Joyeux Noel (?). Anyway, here it is: The Germans and British play a game of soccer together: A German soldier brings a Christmas tree over: A German and a Frenchman meet each other: A captain of each side speak with each other: The truce was a time when soldiers could collect the fallen from no man's land: Three soldiers play poker together (where they got the chips is anyone's guess :-$ ): Happy Holidays! :-) Quote
iamded Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Very cool! Funnily enough, my dad was telling me about this a few days ago. Great scene, and clever use of the Viking horns for the German helmuts! *y* ~Peace Quote
Opproperaar Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 The famous Christmas truce on the Western front. The high generals on both sides - who were very much so opposed to peace and friendliness, what aweful men indeed - must have thought that the spirit of Xmas does weird things to people. The one in 1914, between British and German forces, happened in Flanders near Ypres. (purely technical now) Ok, now for the MOC itself, I like the friendly atmosphere you created though surely I believe you could have portrayed No Man's Land a bit more detailed. An improvised crater of sorts (though I must admit I am oblivious as to how you can make one) two or three withered, black trees. Perhaps even a pillbox with a machinegun. (not being used obviously) Some lights or a fire around which people gather? Though those are just suggestions. But nonetheless, there's a friendly atmosphere in the air. Lest We Not Forget Quote
