Governor Mister Phes Posted May 7, 2005 Governor Posted May 7, 2005 I've been thinking about Cut Throat Island and how annoying Geena Davis was as a Pirate... Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 I've got two in two different genres: - Pirates of the Carrabeans for th "fun" - Pirates by Roman Polanski Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 7, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 7, 2005 Could you possibly elaborate upon that Master Yoda? Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Could you possibly elaborate upon that Master Yoda? Sure Phes ;) Its interesting to see Pirates movies history: None of these early movies Quote
eDeevo Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Nothing to say really on Pirates of the Carrabeans since its a fairly recent movie. I love the acting - Depp is really one of the best actors (at least in the top 5) as of now.The story is nice, the sets are beautifull, the music is great and I cannot wait for n Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Don't worry Ed!!!!! They are on pre-production on n Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 7, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 7, 2005 Pirates by Roman Polanski (1986) is a fantastic movie *satis* and I'm not saying this because its a French movie he he ;) Its an action/comedy. I saw this a few years back and wasn't terribly excited by it. Maybe I should watch it when I'm not hung over next time. I grew up with the Disney's 1950 version of Treasure Island and I thought that was pretty good in my younger days. Come to think of it I haven't seen any of the other versions of Treasure Island. I've tried to watch them, but I couldn't bear it... Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Phes, I loved this movie (Polanski's Pirates) when I was younger but I need to see it again for the fun. I also need to see the other old pirates movies, because I'm sure they are great. EDIT Ed, here is a couple of infos on the future Pirates of the Carrabeans Since those projects are categorized as being in production. Both movies are currently being fimed. Ep 2 "Dead's Man Chest" is due in 2006 Here's a plot summary: "Once again thrown into the world of the supernatural, Captain Jack Sparrow finds out that he owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones, Captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. With time running out, Jack must find a way out of his debt or else be doomed to eternal damnation and servitude in the afterlife. And as if this weren't enough, the Captain's problems manage to wreck the wedding plans of a certain Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, who are forced to join Jack on yet another misadventure." Ep 3 is due in 2007 Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 8, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 8, 2005 I've seen the information about Dead Man's Chest on several websites now, but since both movies are being filmed back to back, has there been any information regarding the third movie? Quote
Mr.M Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Captain Blood, with Errol Flynn is a pretty good pirate movie. Especially if you are into fencing, and Basil Rathbone. Steve Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 11, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 11, 2005 I haven't seen Captain Blood yet... It sounds interesting though I might have to do a remake of it one day. I even live where Errol Flynn originated from... No wonder he left this place... Quote
