Jones Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Hi everyone, I've been lurking and enjoying the forum for weeks and thought I would finally join! I'm interested in re-assembling my old town theme legos from the 80s and 90s into a new town with a train and I've been so inspired by all the ideas I've uncovered here! I can't wait to build my city and show it off and perhaps get some tips from the experts. I'm having trouble finding ideas for town/city layouts ... I guess I'm also frustrated because while I've found and dusted off all my own legos, I can't find any of my road baseplates! Grrr! It's hard to design a town without roads! Anyway, hello and Merry Christmas +1! Quote
Lt. Veers Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) Welcome to EB, Jones! Hopefully you can find some road plates on Bricklink for good prices. Oh, yeah, and I demand a backstory for your avatar! Edited December 27, 2007 by Lt. Veers Quote

Jones Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Everyone is so friendly, thanks for making me feel welcome!! Veers, to answer your question I am a health and medical reporter for a television network so I tried to create my red-haired self interviewing a doctor. I found you can't do a minifig head turn with the "Hermione" hair! (Gee, in my day you had black ponytails and red ponytails and that was it!!! Now the possibilities are so extensive.) While I have the experts peeking in on this post, I did a search for a FAQ and didn't come up with much. Just what does "MOC" stand for? And does "juniorization" mean the scale is too small or that the parts are too un-brick-like? I can't quite tell from the context.... Thanks for helping out a newbie AFOL!!! (I figured out that one already!) Quote
ExoBuilder Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Welcome to EB Jones! You shall enjoy your stay here! BTW: MOC stands for My-Own-Creation. ;-) Quote
Wout Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Hello and welcome on eurobricks (Friendly Face) Juniorization is when There is a (sometimes overspecialised) piece used that can be replaced by several littleler bricks. In the late 90's there were carbases under cars which you didn't could use much for something different for example. Quote
