Dovchenko Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 The worst set you've ever had... covering only the defects which unfortunately came with it. Minifig-sized Batmobile for me. Wrong wheels, mixed paint hair for Two-Face (more than just the half and half, colours were spilling), the mechanism wouldn't work (missile wouldn't reach van due to lowness of wheels), and overall it was a very poorly made set, alltogether. The only things I can compliment about it are the faces included, torsos, and legs. As for yours? Quote
steelharbingerofdeath Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 i think this is in the wrong forum as this is the star wars subforum. and too bad on that set. steel... Quote

Starwars4J Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Move the topic in the forum Theater, no in the TIE Army. Well not exactly, I'll move this to the General forum since this is asking about ANY set, he just related a Batman set as his :-) Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Hands-down, some of the Toa Inika sets I bought. In one case, BOTH of the inner leg socket pieces just cracked completely... upon FIRST INSERTION. Sets with lime or orange have this problem. Very badly made. I have so many of those pieces laying around now. I REALLY should have called Lego for replacements, though sets out in stores over a year later STILL had the same problems with the same pieces. Almost beating this would be X-Pods with 1x1 off-lime bricks. Stack them up in a row... the edges don't match. >__< Quote
AgentRick Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 The classic Lime Green female joints in the Ehlek and Hahli Mahri sets. I had to buy a SECOND HAHLI!! KJGHJGD! Quote
steelharbingerofdeath Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 i bought jabbas sail barge it was completely sealed before i got it but when i opened it it was missing the 8x8 grated plates and all the minifigs, i did take it back and got a complete refund. steel... Quote
Brickmaster Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 I have never had a defective set. Quote
Derek Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 I have never had a defective set. I would knock on wood. I havent either... Quote

Did you find you had 8x8 non-grated plates instead. They were replaced in many sets with an accompanying instruction addendum. That obviously doesn't explain the minifigs. Regards Batmobile, yes the height of the missile launcher is annoying isn't it? The only really bad one I had was Boba's new Slave I in which one of the big curved pieces was bent to buggery Quote
steelharbingerofdeath Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 nope it was missing 8x8's of all sorts |-/ but i got a ton of exo force and a coupon from the tru store i baught it at as a sorry, but please don't think less of our store thing. steel... Quote

The only things I can compliment about it are the faces included, torsos, and legs. As for yours? Do you happen to have a photo of the improperly mixed hair that you can share? I love defective pieces (odd huh?) and would love to see this! Most likely, I'd probably have considered this a big positive, being a collector of "misprints" as it were. Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Hmmm....I can't think of a time I have had defective parts in my sets either. Quote
sweathog Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 i have had very good experience with lego products for years now. i had read about quality issues with the change in their manufacturing process. i had even seen some of the pictures of defective parts on brickshelf.com. however, i never believed it would happen to me. first of all, i was missing parts (1x1 curved slope and the 2 "bombs") in my new y-wing set. that was a bummer. then, my republic cruiser had the wrong qui-gon head. then, my ucs millennium falcon came with a misprinted sticker. all in the month of december. i have multiple copies of lego sets that i are in storage. i am wondering if i need to open up every box and put together the sets to see if anything is missing. i hope the quality in lego improves. captaintau Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Veering very slightly off topic, it wasn't long ago that we were complaining about sets often missing parts. I had a run of three (I think) brand new sets with bits missing. To me, this seems to have stopped. I've not been missing a piece from a new set in ages. Has anyone else found this to be the case? Athos Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Only thing I've had wrong was I got 2 of the second part of the instruction booklet for Hogwarts, but no book one. I also got an M-Tron torso rather than the red knight torso from the Knights' Stronghold. Steve Quote
Norrington Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Market Street. The one of the window frames was completely smashed on one side. I just replaced it with a back frame, and move the black one to the top floor so it would be less noticable. |-/ Kinda' cool, but in the Fire Nation Ship from Avatar, I got the dark grey arches mixed with light gray in some places. Cool effect, sucky reason. Quote
Tohst Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Defects recently: Exo-force Dark Panther: The new two-colored pointy piece. One color and missing the pointy end. Rebel Scout Speeder: missing a 1 x 1 plate with clip UCS Millenium Falcon: missing some intstruction pages...that one was frustrating Lime Green socket pieces from Bionicle : Cracking like ice in spring 90% of the instruction manuals last year: Completely bent and torn in the box but the worst defect I ever got: http://peeron.com/inv/sets/8310-1 Seriously, the instructions really bother me. -tohst Quote
ExoBuilder Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 This is alittle off topic but I recently found one of the horses in my Cyclone Defender box. *wacko* Quote

Username_Taken Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 A horse in the Exo-Force? That's just silly. Well, free horse for you! anyhoo, the only thing that I can think of is that my T-1 Typhoon was missing the sticker sheet, so my heli looks a bit bare now. U_T Quote
Guurahk101 Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 (edited) I just bought 4996 'Beach House' at Target, but it was missing the "main model" instruction booklet, and ALL of the Doors and 1x4x6 windows. :'-( But I exchanged it just today, so now my 6 Crownies from my 3 "Catapult Attack" sets have a nice place to stay until I go home to my dad's. They even sacrificed their catapults to make furniture. I'm not sure if it was a production error or not though, the box had a couple "white spots" on it from what looks like tape tear, and the tape that kept it shut had some lint or something in them. Also, 3 of the bags were slashed open. But if someone took them and returned it, why not the green 16x32 baseplate, and the simi-rare Chicken piece? *wacko* All that matters is it's all good now. By the way, it's a great set . *y* Edited January 8, 2008 by Guurahk101 Quote
ExoBuilder Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 When I got my Uplink, I got three instruction booklets, and two sticker sheets. That was weird! *wacko* *sweet* Quote
AgentRick Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 (edited) I got an extra DSS in my Crab Crusher *wacko* . Why did I throw it out? Also: Galidor. why? Edited January 8, 2008 by AgentRick57 Quote
Hinckley Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I got an extra DSS in my Crab Crusher *wacko* . Why did I throw it out? Also: Galidor. why? The stuff you found in your Galidor box wasn't technically a defect. It was just poor foresight. :-/ This is alittle off topic but I recently found one of the horses in my Cyclone Defender box. *wacko* A horse? Someone was definitely asleep at the wheel. That's hilarious!!! :-D :-D :-D Quote
