ACPin Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 From Greek mythology the story of Perseus beheading the Gorgon Medusa has captivated the imagination of people since ancient times. Here's a humble portrayal of the scene in bricks. AC Quote
MAB Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I've always thought it a shame that one of the snakes on the top of the head wasn't a minfig-hand sized handle, so that Perseus could hold the severed head aloft by the hair. It is just about possible if angled correctly. Quote
AmperZand Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Nice little YOC! I especially like the way Perseus is clearly looking at Medusa's reflection in his shield to avoid her petrifying gaze. Quote

ACPin Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 I've always thought it a shame that one of the snakes on the top of the head wasn't a minfig-hand sized handle, so that Perseus could hold the severed head aloft by the hair. It is just about possible if angled correctly. Tried for at least half hour to do it and finally gave up. Though this scene looks more dramatic as it happens at that exact moment. Very nice, I like the broken pillar Thought about putting another minifig turned to stone but it changes the focus from the two minifigs, so the broken pillar fills the space without taking anything away. Nice little YOC! I especially like the way Perseus is clearly looking at Medusa's reflection in his shield to avoid her petrifying gaze. Tried to get her actual reflection from different angles but it was too faint and it was intentional based from the story foretold. Excellent build to portray this well known story I like the floor pattern you used here Why am I not surprised that you'd notice that floor? :D AC Quote
