Sarg_Kulo Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I certainly would, and I'm sure as hell that others would too. Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Not too sure because I've never played the game, I guess it would depend on the sets ;) So my vote goes for n Quote
Akkhraziel Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 This is not your brain.... ....but you are weleocme...in it.... Gravemind Akkh Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 2, 2005 Governor Posted May 2, 2005 No. Not another blinkin licence! Can't LEGO come up with decent ideas on their own anymore? Oh wait, just look at Dino... So that answers that question. Quote
eDeevo Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I voted 'yes', not because I am a fan of LEGO doing these crazy license-thingys, but because there would obviously have to be some pretty cool pieces in the sets... Life is Good. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted May 2, 2005 Author Posted May 2, 2005 Dam you Phez, I'm trying to persuade Lego here Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 2, 2005 Governor Posted May 2, 2005 But alas, it conflicts with my agenda so I cannot condone it. Quote
TheQ Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I have seen lots of Halo MOCs and for me, they look the same. I would cry if the Company would say that Halo will be next "lisenced" theme (or being new "Space"-theme). Original ideas are main part why LEGOs are so fun. As for new bricks, no. I have just bought my first non-mini SW sets (first "real" set that I have bought for 3 years) and I am now just exploring it's possibilities. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted May 2, 2005 Author Posted May 2, 2005 Well you'd rather have Halo then no Halo right? Quote
Orlego Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I voted no because I have no interest in the game but I guess it would depend on the parts list of each set. If another license was to be purchased, it would have to be based on a very popular movie that everyone is farmillar with. I'm not saying Halo is not popular, just not as popular with the general public (including the parents of which a good 80% would be making the purchases). Now if they are scheduled to make a Halo movie and if it is big enough, maybe. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 2, 2005 Governor Posted May 2, 2005 What classification or age group is Halo intended for? Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 What classification or age group is Halo intended for? I have never actually played the game, although I have heard that the Halo series (Halo 1 and 2) are very popular. I'm pretty sure the game is a R(ole) P(laying) G(ame) and a 3rd person shooter (correct me if im wrong because this was from my friend's experience :| >-| ). I have see people's ages raging from teenagers to adults playing this game on the demo versions at the stores. By the way, I think the Halo 2 game is rated M (for Mature/for ages 17 or above), but many people dont follow these rules...and I don't really mind... :-D :P Quote
Wolf04 Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 It's enough I don't like Halo, last thing I need is my favourite toy making Halo sets. Stupid over-rated games. Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 It's enough I don't like Halo, last thing I need is my favourite toy making Halo sets. Stupid over-rated games. I agree with you. It really is over-rated. The price is way too high (it was around 39.99 to 49.99 when it was realeased), being bad enough that it was partially produced by Microsoft...(reminding you of Bill Gates? :P ) But i can't agree with you that I hate it or it is actually "stupid" as you say, becuase I have never played it...but i reinforce you saying that LEGO shouldn't start making Halo toys, even though i confess that it might sell well in the various global markets. Wolf04 Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Since I never played it, I've decided to download Halo 1 for PC and decide for myself how good it is. I thought Unreal Tournament was crap, then a friend of mine showed me the first one and I was immediately hooked and now, play UT04 online almost everyday, so I may be wrong about Halo (chances are not but it's worth a shot). Governor Mister Phes Posted May 3, 2005 Governor Posted May 3, 2005 Refresh my mind... What happens in Halo? Someone told me a couple of months ago but I've forgotten now... Quote
Akkhraziel Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 The first game was a very enjoyable first person shooter which also benefitted from a very interesting storyline, an overall great design, insanely fun multiplayer, and comfortable and slick gameplay. On the X-Box (I cannot speak for the much delayed computer port) it plyed extremely well, especially for a launch title. The Halo universe was intriguing, the characterizations intereting, and at its core it was still a great fps that was a blast to play. It became a favorite of many gamers. Halo 2 would see mixed results. Mixed becasue the storyline felt a little rushed, and terribly short, though still expanding a universe that had only been explored in the first game and a couple of books. THe big draw for most, however, was that it was playable over X-Box live now as opposed to the first Halo, which was lan party only. Is Halo all that? only if you are a real fan of the fps genre. Is a it a great franchise ? Absolutely. It is a great fps set in a memorable universe with characterization typical of many rpg games. Akkh Quote
The Middleman Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 I think I can pretty much end this discussion by saying that LEGO will NEVER produce a license based on an M-rated game. They have a family-friendly policy and that violates it heavily. Hypothetically, however, I think a Halo theme would be rather boring. Lots and lots and lots of green. The figs would be good, though. You are right about the greens, though the Covenant forces use a lot of purple and other colors. I have one of the mini Banshee's from Joyride studios, and the color is really nice. And I'd love to see the spider asault mech from Halo 2 in lego. Though honestly, it is one of the few vehciles that would probably lend itself well to lego. A lot of the Covennant vehicles are very smooth in their appearance, which would require either a lot of SNOT bricks, or would probably come out looking a bit odd. So, in essence, a lo of the cooler vehicles wouldn't probably look al that great legoized...or would end up probably needing to be <insert that tiresome argument> with large custom parts to maintain appearances. But, since this is al in the realm of blue skyin...if the models could be well done...it would be nice. Vikings needs to hurry up and get here. Akkh Quote
eDeevo Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 I HATE first person shooters, but I really enjoy playing Halo 2. But it is really only fun when you are playing the game with other people, or on-line live... then it really gets fun ;) Life is Good. Quote
