jim7564 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 As a few have asked about the carrier in the background of the Arizona here it is.It was built from as a Heavy Cruiser then converted later on.although never actually finished and very few photos, plans etc to go by,this is pretty close to how she would be (i hope anyway) in need of a few alterations bulges on the sides are not really big enough and the AA guns need rebuilding, have since rebuilt some planes but they take some amount of pieces compared to these ones, 17ft long working elavator although it struggles when a plane is on aichi divebomber early version later ones are much better superstructure is based on the Unryu Class the Battleship in the background is the IJN Fuso sloping side exhaust was a Japanese trademark on most of their carriers as was the radio masts which were lowered when launching aircraft the sides of the hangar deck were full of air vents and supports for the many AA gun pods markings on the flight deck was apparently so the pilots would recognize their carriers so as not to land on the wrong one finally every Japanese capital ship had a gold chrysanthemum on the bow new version of a Zero fighter plane (about 20 more to make now) Quote

jim7564 Posted May 8, 2016 Author Posted May 8, 2016 Thanks for sharing these pictures. She looks great! I really like the angled ribs that support the flight deck, they look very elegant. I look forward to seeing more of your ships. Perhaps one day you can build a minifigure sized Pearl Harbor? pearl harbour control tower if i had the space i would build Ford Island (pearl harbour) Quote
GeoBrick Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 if i had the space i would build Ford Island (pearl harbour) Battleship row would do for us I think. Incredibly huge ships there. I dare not think of the time it takes to construct even a single one! Quote
BrickJagger Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 *Jaw hits floor* This is amazing. How long did that take? Quote
