5150 Lego Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 So i'm building an expedtion/off road truck. Its coming along preety nice, but there are a few tools i'd like to like to add to it before the team goes off for there first expedtion. I'm looking for any tools that work in scale with techinc figures. Spesificly, i'm looking for an axe and shovel. After some searching, i think i've a couple shovels that should work well. Fabuland has a shovel that looks like it would work and duplo also has one that by the looks of it, will fit the hands of the technic figures hands. But i'm still looking for a simular shovel. I could have sworn i've seen one before, but a peeron and brinklink search haven't shown any results. I know we have some fabuland fans that could possible shed some light. Also, i'm not sure if any other tools were made in techinc figure scale. I thought that they had some wrenches and stuff, but again can't seem to find any. And last, i'm also looking for row boat type hull big enough for at least one techinc firgure, or a canoe..Or both. I have no clue if lego ever produced these, as the only boat hulls i know of are the cargo ship hulls from city sets. If anyone can sugjest some that might work for my prodject that would be great!
Turaga of Force Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Does the viking ship work for a canoe? And maybe you have tried this, but go to the minifig accessories section on BrickLink, in the parts section of the reference catalog.
simonwillems Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 (edited) Hey, great idea building something for those Technic figures! I did some research and came up with the following: There is at least one tool I know of which was used in this Technicset (and some Fabuland ones I think) it is this one: Any tool can be configured to the hands of a Technic minifigure, using this pin, just slid it over the end of your utensil and there you go. Fabuland had a nice boat, this one, in red and yellow, but it is flat underneath (just like the boathulls from the late eighties) and cannot be attached to anything. This one is also nice, it comes in brown, pink and some other colours and is more a straightforward copy of the old pirate rowboat, but enlarged. I can not remember if this one can be attached to anything... but it looks great and can be equipped with a mast and sail using the fixed hinge. It was used in Adventurers set 5986 and some Belville sets (that accounts for the pink version ;-) ) Good luck! Edited December 18, 2007 by simonwillems

Your right about using the techinc pin to use with the hands of technic figures. Thats actully what they use in that techinc figure set you linked. That should work out well. Thanks! *sweet* Asfar as the row boat goes, your going to laugh, but i just realised that i attually have the bellvile cruise ship, and it came with that yellow row boat! Did some digging, andi found it! perfect! Now i just need to find a simular sized axe, make some aproriate storge bins for the tools and the expedtion can begin!

Nice chrome parts of course, but still...?I just remembered a nice axe, two actually, this Fabuland set has both Well,i had big plans for that boat. Was going to make a trailer for it, and change around the cabin design. Possibly even convert it into a coast gaurd type boat. Problem is i didn't have the right parts to make the trailer tomy liking, so i never got to it. Right now it just sitsin the corner of my room like it was shipped wrecked. At least some of it will be put to good use. Anyways, thats for the link for that fabuland set. Unfortunutly, i can't find anyone on brick link thats selling it. Even worse, no one has the pick axe.
