raarghh Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Hello, Im just curious as to why some sets have two instruction booklets? Why not make one thick? And also, whats up with store exclusive sets? Why not just release everything everywhere? Do the stores pay Lego or whats up with that? Just two questions that popped up in my head on this slow day at work... Quote
AmperZand Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I suspect that one reason for two instruction books is that lots of kids - TLG's main market - would find one massive instruction book off-putting. Two books is easier psychologically. As for store exclusives, they don't pay for them directly. Rather, they're an incentive for large volume sellers to order even more LEGO. And for big chain retailers, it allows them to outcompete their smaller rivals. Quote
Breakdown Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Does not apply to every set, but many are one set one bag. Many people are breaking sets and selling as new on E-bay. It's nice being able to break instruction books without actually turning them into a mess. 60097 is a prime example. Even the trains are being sold car-by-car, etc. Also, if you have two kids and . . . . . gasp . . . . they have to share the lego!! Quote
