xzanfr Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I've recently found my old "LEGO builders club' certificate from 1981 - 1982 and was wondering if there were any other old members out there? I remember we got a magazine of some sort and I really remember the stickers which me and by brother plastered all over an old wardrobe. I think the club address was in Wrexham in Wales and I remember visiting my aunt near Wrexham thinking the local hills were full of plastic bricks (and not lead or slate etc!!). I was member number 15435 and I think the signature is from Mr Clive Nichols.... but maybe I'm wrong. Any other memories? Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Yup, I used to be. Joined up when I got my first set which must have been in the mid eighties. I remember one day before school I got a letter from The LEGO Club saying that because I had been a member for a long time they were sending me a new membership card saying I was an "Advanced Member". I was so proud. :-P That must have been in the early-mid ninetees. Ah what I'd give to be a kid again. :'-) Quote

Years later I'd worked out that it was a promotion based on time in the club and not for skill...oh the shattered illusions!! Quote
