Wolf04 Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 The official announcement: Today Ubisoft announced that it is developing Prince of Persia 3 (working title) for the PS2, the Xbox, GameCube and the PC. Scheduled for release in the second half of 2005, Prince of Persia 3 is the third volume in the award-winning Prince of Persia franchise. Blending the best features from the first two installments (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Prince of Persia Warrior Within) with the talent, vision and ingenuity of Ubisoft's development teams, Prince of Persia 3 will enliven the franchise with a vitality - and plenty of unexpected twists - that will impress and satisfy long-time fans and newcomers alike. Prince of Persia 3 will be showcased at the Electronic Entertainment Expo May 18 - 20 at Ubisoft's booth, #1300 in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center. "Prince of Persia 3 promises to be THE best instalment in the legendary franchise," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubisoft. "By combining two playable characters in a masterly balanced gameplay, with the perfect mix of acrobatic moves and a compelling storyline, the Prince of Persia will appeal to both Sands of Time and Warrior Within fans alike. The Prince is back to reclaim his kingdom, and he has a few surprises in store Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Oo looks dark. I love dark and moody games *twisted* . Quote
Wolf04 Posted April 28, 2005 Author Posted April 28, 2005 Ugh, I hate them. For example, I don't like Warrior Within's theme. The only reason I still play it is because of the free-form fighting system. And actually it's not dark, well it's half and half. In the game, you can choose the dark path or the light path and depending on that, the game changes "moods". Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 29, 2005 Governor Posted April 29, 2005 Prince of Persia 3? Its so confusing when they do this. I thought there had been 2 Prince of Persia games since Prince of Persia 2 was released back in the early 90's, i.e. Sands of Time and that other one. But now they're finally deciding to tack a 3 in front of the next one? Quote
Wolf04 Posted April 29, 2005 Author Posted April 29, 2005 I've already explained this in another forun...sheesh: It's not hard to think... "Ok, people this IS Prince of Persia 3. The old 3 have nothing in common with the new ones. Those were developed and made by different companies. The new ones are made by Ubisoft. So you can't compare the new Prince of Persia series with the old one. There is no connection whatsoever between them. The only reason Warrior Within is good is because of the free-form fighting system. I love all the combos you can do but I liked The Sands of Time gameplay because it was original and it was something new." ----------------- "Ha, I have the perfect example. Two actually NFS Hot Pursuit 2 is actually NFS 6 isn't it? NFS Underground 2 is actually NFS 8 isn't it? It's the same wth Ubisoft's PoP series. It's a new series, similar to the Underground series compared to the original series. It shares some aspects but it is a totally new breed. And Prince of Persia Warrior Within was called Prince of Persia 2 when it was announced and they didn't have a new for it." Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 30, 2005 Governor Posted April 30, 2005 You poor over worked wolf. I don't know how you cope with the demands of this thread... You're doing a superb job. I remember playing the original Prince of Persia on my Amiga 500 when it first came out... Ahhhh... Those were the days... When REAL Pirate LEGO was in stores no less... Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Does this one have the sand option indtead of blood? Quote
Wolf04 Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 Does this one have the sand option indtead of blood? Ummm do you mean if you're still able to rewind time or the gore level? ------------ Well...the graphics are the same and if I showed a random person on the street a picture from all 3 new-generation PoP, they would think it's the same game. I went around at the IGN PoP forums and Ubisoft PoP Forums and it's not the graphics that are important but the storyline. It's very complex and interesting. I want to finish Warrior Within just for the storyline. I'm now at Clockworks And Gears and I used Gamespot to get the life upgrades. Quote
