Eh, I'm hoping they make a new mold for Clay's hair. It's different.

They didn't do it for Ava

They gave her an already existing mould, despite being unaccurate to how she looks in the cartoon

Imagine having your boys getting Minnie while the little Disney Princess comes up with Captain Hook.

So sad to see there's still people thinking like this

The waiting is so long, but I'm sure in June, we will talk about series 2. Do you think Ursula could come with Flotsam & Jetsam or is this too much ?

We all are gonna become mad with this series ! :-)

I wish!

But, I guess they will go with the cheap route. Maybe a butterfly printed in a translucent minifigure head, like Mr. Burns

Yup. But it's a bigger problem than this thread, this series, or just Lego ...

-Sigh-

Not that I am likely going to change anyone's minds, but.......

(1) Some people have certain character preferences. It is the same as in any other Lego minifigure series. Would it make you feel better if my kids were not totally excited by getting a carpenter, yet they would love an alien or a spaceman? I dont teach them what/who to like. When they have a little extra money to spend, they are free to use it on City, Star Wars, Friends, Elves, Duplo, or anything else they can afford in the store. In this particular series, I would like to get Mickey, Minnie (gasp!), Peter Pan, and Hook. Ursula, Lilo, and Stitch, not so much. Blind bags going for $4 can be significant money for a kid and it is even annoying for an adult to get duplicates of something they do not want because the more desired figures have been picked over. Alas, I will not launch into a debate whether or not the blind bag is the best way to go.

(2) Four bucks for one pack. Eight bucks for both kids to get a shot at this. While we are not destitute, we are not necessarily free of the economic cycle either.

(3) By the way, what does "think like this" mean exactly? I dont think it is sad that people have preferences for one character over another. I do think it is sad that other people want to dictate how they think children should feel about a product.

This is getting off topic, but the comment responded to is one that makes my hackles rise. It's not me being PC, it's me knowing that not all boys won't hate Minnie, and all 'princesses' won't hate Hook.

That's a generalisation that might work for many, or even most, but still ain't helpful.

If you want to avoid certain characters or get certain characters, or avoid duplicates - that's fine, by all means do that. But if you make generalisations, sometimes it's helpful to consider why you have them challenged.

Younger kids love Hook due to how he's characterized on Jake & The Neverland Pirates. He was more feared before that show.

I can imagine that we'll be seeing non-AFOLs buying these buy the case. Disneyfans are INSANE when it comes to collectibles, from Funko Pops to Pins to Vinylmations and on and on.

I don't know if this has been said but what if they do the black panther ear piece for Mickey

I'm sorry, but which figure are you referring to? The only one I can come up with is the one from marvel, but he only appeared in a game and is not a real figure.

Anyway, whoever you are referring to, it won't happen, they aren't going to reuse a peace for Mickey, he definitely needs (and deserves) a new mold.

He doesn't mean reuse the piece, he means the concept. The rubber ring piece for the top of the head could be used with big circle ears, rather than pointed ears or horns, as it's been used for Black Panther & Darth Maul. The piece could be custom made for Mickey, possibly with a hole in front that could allow the piece to be used for Minnie with a bow piece put into the front.

I would think mickey will be like the nesquick bunny.

I think that the nesquick bunny head type will look better than something like this. These are customs and I do not like the way that these look. They do not feel like lego.

Well, sorry to disappoint, but those knock offs are probably really close to what we're gonna get. The Simpsons heads looked really nice, smooth and shiny. Printed heads with molded heads over them wouldn't look that great.

These look bad because they are poorly done. The sculpting doesn't look accurate and de printing is done badly. They used strange colors and so I can go on for a while. These are also ripoffs done with fake Lego pieces. If Lego chooses to make him a head mold it will look good and accurate. Think about the official molded heads Lego has done (so not the ripoffs): the simpsons, star wars and cmf, they all included well done molded heads that looked accurate and exactly like Lego should look like.

Or don't challenge them and let each child decide for themselves who they want to collect. I promise you adults care about this issue way more then kids do. I've worked in enough toy stores and schools to know that without adult interference, many children go after the toys that fit their gender, and there is nothing wrong with that. Are there sometimes that a boy might want a doll or a girl might want a fire truck? Sure, but it's not the norm. Generalizations and criticisms are a two way street my friend. I fully expect a lot of disappointed little boys if they spend $4 on one of these polybags and end up with a princess figure. That doesn't make them or their parents wrong for those feelings.

Anyway, I agree, this is off topic, so let's drop it. I won't answer to anymore comments on this issue myself. I for one as an adult collector and uber Disney and LEGO fan plan on picking up all of these figures, depending on who they are. Not too big on some of the newer characters, but I'd happily add Snow White and Jasmine on my shelf next to Peter Pan and Simba. For me my collection would not be complete without them.

And actually, that brings up an interesting point: What are the chances of seeing four legged characters like Simba or Bambi in either this or a future wave? I'd be sad if it never happened.

Well, we've talked about that a lot, and I would say, no, it won't happen since they don't count as minifigures. Although they still have a chance to appear as an accessory for a humanoid character that does get a figure (like the Simpsons their pets in their cmf series) or in set form.

Is this a little better?

To be honest, Yes! But still not really good for an official Lego figure. But I'm positive it will look amazing as real Lego.

That's kind of what I'm thinking will be the case. As long as they are not too small, I'm down with four legged Disney characters being "accessories." But if they made say Simba the size of that cat I guess is Rajah in the Jasmin Prince set, that's going to be kind of sad. :(

I agree, however a small Simba might work in combination with rafiki (who is the only humanoid character in the entire movie).

Maybe. I worry it would just come off as lame though.

I kind of see Timon as an "accessory" figure just because of his size.
