Doctor Sinister Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I made two new MOCs last night - one that is majorly cool and this one which I like, but which is rather less cool as it's...a truck. :-D OK, so this is the Vigil Class Amphibious Supply Truck - used as a general utility vehicle by the Tabletown Army, it is armoured and capable of amphibious operations. No, it's not the most glamorous vehicle in the world, but logistics are just as important as weapons and tactics and where would an army be without supplies? Encased in heavy armour, the Vigil is very tough. The cargo area can be used in a number of configurations and with the addition of a canopy, or storage container on the back, the maximum capacity is larger than it might appear. The Vigil can even be used to transfer troops. The front wheels of the Vigil can be deflated from the cabin to allow it to enter the water easier, and then reinflated once back on dry land. This Vigil uses many of the same components as other military vehicles in service with the Tabletown Army - this makes it easier for spare parts to be sourced or even for parts to be swapped straight over from one vehicle to another. The Vigil is narrow enough to navigate the streets of Tabletown City without a problem. PLMKWYT! Dr. S. Quote
Batbrick Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 This one is cool, but would probably fit right in the middle of the pack for me. I love the idea of an amphibious supply vehicle, but though it certaintly has an aqua feel to it, it doesn't quite look like it could float yet. Maybe if you added some more to the lower sides to give it a float look. That said, as with your other vehicles, it is a good design, and as stated in your Venom helicopter thread I love trans bricks as bullet proof windscreens! *y* I will give major credit to the front, which makes it look a lot like a Duck vehicle, which of course is amphibious too. It seems you have perfected the armoured skirting too 8- Quote
Asuka Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Amphibious.... amphibious.... I really love amphibious vehicles, just can Quote

iamded Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Woohoo! More Tabletown army vehicles! :-D I think all of your vehicles are really cool, and though this may not be as cool, it's still excellent! *y* I see it's got the hull electrifiers though, they'd be a bit of a worry when in water. 8-| :-P Looking forward to seeing more, including that helicopter which I'm gonna look at right away! ~Peace Quote
Siegfried Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I like this one. *sweet* It looks very practical... which is what a supply truck needs to be! :-D The grills on the bonnet are a nice touch; I assume that is needed for the amphibious capabilities. Like Batbrick I think it needs more to be a convincing floater; perhaps inverted pieces at the front? Quote
casewindu Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Hey Dr S I really like this little truck you have made especially the mudguard panels across the sides, I also like the little hatch at the back to lower the troops! With all of this military equipent you have been making I feel that living your your town would be very safe! *sweet* I have made up my mind next summer I'm going to tabletown! *y* Quote
Hinckley Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 I like this a lot! Your parade of Tabletown military vehicles has been a blast to watch. They're very well done and different from the other stuff we've seen from you so far. What I like about you as a builder is you're not limited by themes... *sweet* The only thing I don't like is the windscreen. Is there any other options you considered? Being brickbuilt looks like it's a glass block wall instead of a windscreen. It takes away from the rest of the set somehow for me. I love the front, nice use of those green canopy pieces. *y* And while I can see the point that it can look more "floaty" I think it looks very similar to amphibious vehicles I have seen. Perhaps just a little thicker around the edges will do it, if anything at all. Again, great work and thanks for sharing your talent with us. *sweet* *y* PS. Kitty *wub* Quote
General Kannon Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 We need them for invasions, but they might need to be larger? Quote
