WesternOutlaw Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I am just curious: I have been a long time collector of plastic SW figures (Kenner/Hasbro) long before buying Lego SW. I haven't bought too much in recent years, but was wondering who else out there collects both Hasbro and Lego SW? There's been some really nice sets in the past few years (as well as new figs this year that look great). If you are a Lego SW collector, do you also buy Hasbro figures and ships? Quote
Scouty Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 "Other SW Collectables" I collect a wide range of SW items ;-) . Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 Do you have a large collection of figures and ships? Quote
Scouty Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Not so much, really. The only figure ships I have is Obi-Wan kenobi's Jedi Starfighter (Ep. III red version). Then I have a good number of figures. Most notably a pack of clonetroopers which I kept in their package (still opened and played with, though. They're just put back when I'm done with them.) Most of these is when Ep. III came out. I got some on the April 2 midnight release at Toys R' Us (bought the lego as well :-D ). But I continued to buy figures throughout the year. I haven't gotten many over the past two years, then again, now at least, I don't have a great chance of getting any. They're all cool, nontheless!! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 I haven't bought any of the regular figs in a few year, but I was in my local Target today and came across this set. I thought it was so cool, that I had to pick one up. They had a similar set with an Endor AT-ST. Both were really nice, but I've always been a big fan of Hoth. Here's a pick of it that I just found on the web: Quote
Lt. Veers Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I collect SW figures every once in a while. But I absuloutly, positivly could not resist the Gonk droid figure. Quote

If that's the same as a Power Droid, I still have one from the 70s (original) - not in box but in very nice shape. Not my image, but I believe it is this one: Quote
Mofo Jones Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Unfortunately for my wallet, I have been bitten by both the LEGO bug and the Hasbro bug. Everytime I think about getting out of the Hasbro game, they bring out something else that I absolutely MUST have. I had SW figs and ships when I was a kid (ok, I still have them) but I hadn't bought anything since about 1997... Then ROTS was released and shortly after that I was sucked in.... *wacko* Quote

I finally said NO MORE a few years ago when I moved and had boxes of SW items. But once in a blue moon, I see something that I think is really slick. - like the Hoth set pictured above. I was really curious if the Lego SW collectors also buy other SW merchandise. So far, it seems that the majority do. Quote
xwingyoda Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Interesting question Brickster ;-) I do collect Lego SW a lot !! But apart from that I am keeping several collections for a future SW shrine home: * several Hasbro figs (but only R2s and Yoda) * Several Hasbro Titanium series ship * some of Bust Ups which are freaking awsome 8- Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I voted 3rd choice, because I collect both Legoes and 3 3.4 in. figures. Mostly I get clones or Mandalorians, for example, that awesome new Mandalorian 14 pack set from Entertainment Earth? Got it yesterday. I have an extensive array of clone figures, and I aim to get all four color schemes of the Episode 2 trooper which they distributed in multiple colors. I have the blue, the red, and the green. I will probably get the yellow one off EBay, only not the SA one. A different fig; an Evolutions fig with a removabe helmet and a removable Clone Pilot helmet! 8- Quote
mutley777 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Star wars lego only for me. I was into the kenner toys when i was a kid but i foolishly gave it all away :'-( . I could not afford to buy hasbro and lego, plus i think my wife would leave me then :-D . Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Lol, just nab a few Phase 1 clones! You like em' enough! :-P But seriously, one can buy figures but not go all out! I, for one, only get figures that are not clones when they have lots of accessories and are super-articulated. Otherwise I get every clone I run across! :-D Quote
LuxorV Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I had 2 or 3 Hasbro figs (Obi Wan EpIV, Han Solo in carbonite, and Boba Fett, if I remember) before LEGO started its SW theme, but now it's just LEGO SW. LuxorV Quote
yellost Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 well, in term of displaying collector stuff, I only get Lego SW, but I do collect every comic and book I can lay my hands on... And a few posters and stuff like that, too... Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 It sounds as if many of you collect non-Lego SW. Anyone out there with any special items (very hard to find)? Oh, BTW: I started collecting the SW Gallactic Heroes (2 in pack) a few years ago as well. They're sort of fun. * SW autographed pics: I just met Mister Bulloch (Biba Fett) the other day at a toy convention and he autographed me a sweet pic and he added a cool drawing* am planning on other stuff !! I got Boba Fett's autograph on a 12" figure a number of years ago as well as Yoda. I don't remember which actor. They were doing the comic book circuit together. In fact, I should look for their autographed pictures as well. I can't remember what I did with them??? Quote
