Hinckley Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Okay dear friends, I would like to try something a little different. Instead of starting a contest, I want to see how a simple challenge will pan out. There are no prizes, no polls and no deadline. You can post an answer to this challenge tomorrow or 5 years from now or more. It's just a building challenge to see what different people will come up with. Here are the rules... Build a creation containing only 100 LEGO elements Your creation can be from any theme as long as it only has 100 elements 100 elements are all that can be used to build your creation 100 elements :-D I'd like to see what people could build with that limited amount of bricks. It can be a good exercise in how LEGO model-builders come up with sets at specific price points. Maybe we can even give LEGO a good idea how great a set can be only using 100 parts. Jipay and I did something similar in our MOC rumble using only 50 parts each. Check it out for inspiration. Since this is the first time I've done something like this I'm not sure that a separate entry thread is necessary, but time will tell us that for sure. Have fun everyone!! X-D Post entries here please! Quote
ExoBuilder Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Count me in!! 100 pieces right?(Sarcasm) X-D Quote
Lt. Veers Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 That shouldn't be hard for me. I generally build 100 piece MOCs daily. Quote
AzMean Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 must be 100 pieces EXACTLY or 100 pieces OR LESS? :-P Quote
MicVash Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 That shouldn't be hard for me. I generally build 100 piece MOCs daily. But is it quality or quantity? Let's see some work then. Quote
Hinckley Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 But is it quality or quantity? Let's see some work then. Ooo!! Them is challenge woyds!! :-P Smarty-butt AZ Quote
Brickmaster Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I generically build large vehicles with hundreds or thousands of peices at a time :-$ If I were to enter this I had better think of something in my leage :-X Quote

iamded Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I think my Necrobot troop transport thingy is 100 pieces or less. I'll check later on. ~Peace Quote
LuxorV Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Oh, don't worry, I'm sure most people will stick to that 90-100 pieces. The one above was just an appetizer; I'll built something better with 90-100 pieces once I get home ...and once I find what to build X-D LuxorV Quote

Captain Green Hair Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Sounds like a cool challenge, is there an entry thread? Quote
Brickmaster Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 That's why it's a challenge... ;-) Now who's the smarty-butt! :-D :-$ Anywho, Ive just been brainstorming and have an idea, now I must just build ;-) Quote
Hinckley Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 Sounds like a cool challenge, is there an entry thread? For now, let's post entries here. If it's necessary I can always separate them later... Quote
jedikermit Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 This seems like one even I could enter! Yay! Quote
SlyOwl Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 100 pieces? Way too much! I had trouble fulfilling the 75 in the PH contest - I'd have preferred 50 by far! When I next get a spare day or two, I'll get cracking... (100 pieces is a lot of bricks!) SlyOwl Quote
xwingyoda Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Since Hinckie is having fun creating threads and moving stuff all around ( |-/ ) here is my reply: Pretty cool MOC there Exo-builder59 8- Quote
Hinckley Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 Since Hinckie is having fun creating threads and moving stuff all around ( |-/ ) here is my reply: :-D :-D :-D Sorry. I didn't notice that. Looks like your response was a cross-post casualty. I started a separate thread for entries. Quote
LuxorV Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 (edited) Hey, wait! Mine wasn't the actual entry. It was just an example of a small MOC I built with much less than 100 pieces. I was planning to build something for this challenge with exactly 100 pieces, later. But if it is not possible to change it, then I think it will have to work all the same :-D EDIT: I just saw that the entry tread is opend with my nick 8-| . It's not a problem for me, and the fisrt is my old post here, but shouldn't it be under Hinckley's nick, just to match with this discussion tread? LuxorV Edited November 30, 2007 by LuxorV Quote

It's a challenge, so do whatever you like. The separate thread is started with the earliest post which is yours. So even if I started the thread, it would come up with you as the person who started it. Sly Owl-Then only use 50 bricks. The challenge is 100 bricks or less... :-P Quote

I assumed it was some kind of auto-compiling error :-$ Thanks for the clarifing tips. LuxorV Quote

iamded Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Wait, I thought this wasn't a competition and rather an inspiration thread? So it wouldn't matter if you posted more than 1 creation. 8-| ~Peace Quote
