just2good Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I'd say sell the blaster on eBay, you'd make a lot of money off of it.

Actor Builder Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Wtf.... Um... Was this directly from Lego? Yes. But that Tumbler story... Like that's super scary and disturbing.. It was actually the UCS Batmobile from 2006-2007 or whenever. We hypothesized that a LEGO factory employee got fired, and played a ridiculous and purposeless prank on his last day, or something similar. It's a far-fetched idea, but it was a far-fetched situation.
TheLegoDr Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 This seems too far fetched to be real. That many missing pieces and replacement colored pieces? LEGO has a highly sensitive process full of scales that covers the weight of sets. That many missing pieces would raise a lot of red flags. Does LEGO make mistakes? Yes, all the time. But never to this degree. And most of their mistakes tend to be color variation. And believe me, I've had many mistakes happen over the last few years. So many that I'm weary of buying LEGO in general, so I'm not a 100% LEGO fanboy. But this doesn't seem real.
Mercury Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Wow that is an odd thing, both heads and head pieces missing! I just got this set and I think the Flash's helmet is the coolest I have in my collection. I've only had two sets that had missing pieces, one was the AoU Hydra fortress smash, that one had a few missing slopes and bricks, and my Iron skull sub attack is missing one of the fin pieces. Lego sent me replacements but it took forever to get here.

I went by the Lego Store and I was really sad when I saw the car lying around
Brickadier General Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 For how much The short answer is...however much someone is willing to pay for it. You can find parts in non production colors on bricklink - These are usually found in quantity, even if its with 1 or 2 sellers who have them. For those, the price can range from a few dollars to double and even triple digits (and those are asking prices mind you.). In the past, I remember the ghost shroud appearing in weird colors like black, red, trans clear and bright orange. There were usually very few of them...like 1 each, and the asking price was often more than $100. I checked bricklink, and nobody has a trans red ray gun for sale yet, and none have sold on the site. I checked ebay and couldn't find any. That means, so far, you are the only known person to have one. You could name your price and probably get over $100 for it. If that gun ever gets released in set in trans red, and you still have this, you will have missed your window of opportunity. If you share a picture of the ray gun in this flickr group, you might even get someone contacting you to see if it's for sale: https://www.flickr.com/groups/2822044@N22/ This seems too far fetched to be real. When he was building, he had two duplicate bags of parts but that the one bag he needed to finish the set was missing. In other words, the duplicate bag replaced the one that was needed. In light of that, and taking into consideration the existence of parts in weird colors, it's not all that far-fetched.

JPN366 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Missing arm from the Slimer figure in the Ghostbusters HQ and a few incorrect, but common pieces in the UCS Slave I.

In light of that, and taking into consideration the existence of parts in weird colors, it's not all that far-fetched. A mistake like this, I believe. I can see how 2 of something that is meant to be in a set would be there. They roll off the same line. A set missing two heads and having two totally different replacement heads? Not possible. TLG is highly automated. It's not like there are workers putting all the parts in all the bags. I guess it's possible someone bought the set, carefully opened it, replaced parts they wanted, carefully resealed the box, and returned it. I know this happens all too frequently with minifigures getting stolen.
Krikkit Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I think your parts were removed and resealed. I can do this really well if I put a set back together to sell. (With all parts... i aint a jerk). That blaster looks 3rd party. Firestar toys have it quite a few times. Is it branded?
Ashnflash Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) I'm going to take a picture showing the logo (if the piece actually has one I'm not sure...) I don't think that resealling the set was possible unless it was an employee. I bought the set only a few days after it came out from the LEGO Store. Also it's a push in box with the tab so how could you reseal that? Edited March 30, 2016 by Ashnflash
hadidi1999 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Wow, some guys are expert at this box resealing thing, and there I was thinking it was weird to be an expert sticker applicator.
Borex Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 It never came up to me to do such thing. Box resealing. But it's probably easier to do than to falsify ID's or money.
HawkLord Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Resealing toys and Lego in particular has been a practice for as long as I can remember. There are tons of horror stories like this where people buy what they think is a pristine, untouched Lego set only to find the contents are not at all what they thought they'd be. I've heard all examples - from people getting the wrong Lego bricks to people getting rocks or other plastic chips that have the sound and weight of Lego. If it looks legit at all, store employees don't question returns and may not have the motivation to fully investigate every one. In this instance, I would bet someone bought the item on the first day it hit, swapped out what they needed and returned it. I've never seen an instance of a Lego error this bad, so I have to assume it was a person.
Krikkit Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Yeah it wouldn't surprise me. Some people are dicks. Others, like me, have become good at it because we like to keep the boxes mint!
Vindicare Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) Missing parts sucks, but the blaster you got is awesome. Gotta agree. That trans red blaster...could be an awesome mistake for you. It could be like the red Vader helmet. The other bit is definitely a bummer. Fortunately, TLG is the best costume service in the business. I may have to go get this set sooner rather than later now. Fingers crossed for a blaster. Edited April 1, 2016 by Vindicare

Marvelous Spidey Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 My worst Lego experience involved getting two Simpsons houses for free from shop online but that's a different story Worst?
eldiano Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Lol only experience I had that left me like wth just happened, because I bought a Simpsons house but they swore up and down they sent it, I never received it, they kept sending them but finally I guess many orders in their system logged in that once they fixed it, I got three Simpsons houses for free, I confronted Lego about it since they are huge company but customer service rep just told me to keep them and apologized for the error in their shipping department. They blamed Fed Ex though

They blamed Fed Ex though Woah that's awesome! What happened to the other 2 houses? Oh and for the doubters... The blaster does not have a Lego brand inscription only a 4... WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!? IS IT A FAKE!? A DECOOL... I checked the silver one and it had a copyright and a Lego logo... Also I'm examining the box now to the Robin one I got.. EDIT: So just compared to the Robin one and it pealed the same way. Glue looked the same and the paper pealed off the glue the same! So it must have been a mistake Edited April 1, 2016 by Ashnflash
kibosh Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 So you still think a non-LEGO part actually found it's way into a LEGO production facility, entered a parts bin, was dispensed into a parts bag, found it's way into a set, and was sold in a LEGO store? No way.
