I "like" or lets better say "tollerate" the Pirates 4+ line because those sets are great part sources! (Scimitars, animals, minfig flasks,.....)

True, but only on sale ;)

yeah that had no use at all as for the 4+ pirates i wish i had got some of the 5 dollar sets cause they had an alligator and monkeys and some other good stuff

The worst LEGO theme ever is Harry Potter, without a doubt. Those sets are just :-X. Not to mention I hate the books. =P

Not necessarily, although most peeps would never see themselves purchasing a set, HP sets are good for parts and other things (like the buildings and vehicles), so they're not in particular useless, and most certainly not the WORST Lego theme.

4+ Pirates was a bad attempt to bring in small children using Pirate sets. They were just all around bad, and served little purpose.

ZNAP. But since that's not an option, I'll go for Clickits. With Bionicle as a close second (I know, tons of fans, I just think it's terrible and goes at the cost of 'real' Lego. Half of all sets in toy stores are Bionicle nowadays).

4+ Pirates: They included the chrome scimitar. So...not.

Knights Kingdom: Absuletely not! I won't have the VDF if KK din't exist...and all the minifigs....

D.I.N.O. Attack: Dino 2010 for us Europeans...there were peope who liked it, and I love the digger minifig and his little buggy, then there is Shadow's face, which also is useful (Thanks for the pic, Bloody Jay). So, not.

Alpha Team: Don't have problems with them. Some nice sets there.

Clikits: I voted this. It just isn't Lego.

Lego Factory: Easy way to get some more pieces.

Harry Potter: One word: Graveyard Duel. Oh, and Buckbeak too.

Bionicole: BIONICLE. I guess my avatar speaks for itself.

Quatro: Little kids like them.

Other: Galidor is also something to hate.

DIE BIONICLE DIE!

"Other".

I was going to say Galidor, as it was pretty much REALLY ugly action figures with pop-off limbs... but I think Z'Nap takes the cake.

Here's why:

-Z'nap was clearly an attempt to infringe on competitor K'nex, by confusing brand recognition among customers through a RETARDEDLY similar name. Shameful.

-Even though the beams have Technic pin holes, they're spaced at such a distance whereby they don't connect alongside a regular Technic beam.

-The mushy plastic used is akin to the type being used on some Bionicle and other weapon parts, so it was foolish to use the "teeth" configuration on the end of the beams, as they were easily disfigured when combined with normal Technic axles.

-Even though of a mushy consistency, those same teeth SHRED the mushy axles of newer parts quite easily.

It was a bad idea, and underhanded business practices made it all the more evil.

Now those of you saying Bionicle... I don't think you'd want to see what condition Lego's finances would be at now had they not made that line. If you like the System you're seeing now, thank Bionicle's sales for it.

I totally agree with this statement. Well said...

Bionicle:

(there is no System compatibility anyway)

Ugh... Bionicle is VERY compatible with System. Sometimes with great results.

Gone are the days of Lego mecha that have no more than swing hinges and rotating 2x2's as "joints".

Bionicle made system able to become action figures.

Even without System being added, is this, a full-Bionicle parts creation, really not worthy of ever being allowed to exist? Is this really worse than Z'Nap or Galidor?

Likewise, TRY to pull something abstract off like this with studded bricks:

Non-studded Technic parts are only as useless as you are creative.

Hell, Even the awful Z'nap was used in the above link!

4+ pirates. Hands down. *n*

Voted Bionicle as well.

They're simply not Lego. Their 'fans' are not Lego fans. This line 'poisons' other lines (studless Technic). The success of Bionicle and Bionicle style of 'action' play makes the company to give up on more traditional approach to children and their play.

I believe they could without any serious problems drop the Technic compatibility (there is no System compatibility anyway), make 'em from cheaper plastic, put there 'Made in China' and almost nobody would notice.

1. That is your opinion, so you might want to put "IMO." There are plenty of people that would say that Bionicle is still lego (even when you take away BZP), so simply saying those statements doesn't mean that it's true.

2. When you said that "bioncle's fans are not fans," I felt very insulted. >:-( You're basicly saying that me, Jinzo, KMOI, Ravensburg (2001 wise), Kagarahk, Vahkimetru, Exo-Champ, and some other members here (plus EVERY member on BZPOWER and Maskofdestiny and any bionicle related forum) are not LEGO fans. Even if that's not what you mean, the wording makes it sound just like that, so generalizing every bionicle fan as "not a true lego fan." |-/

3. Saying that Bionicle poisioned Technic just doesn't line up. I mean, Bionicle even used to used old technic beams, and at the same time, Technic didn't! So, bionicle didn't cause that, and BTW, Techinc 2007 uses the old beams as well.

4. Bionicle is system compatable in some ways. Look at Vikings and Exo-force! I know you probably dislike that to, but for many system fans, it worked. And once again, this is your opinion.

5. Um, wrong. Bioncle will always have Technic compatabilty, because if it didn't, it wouldn't be Bioncle or even a building toy. If you are saying that Lego could make bionicle into another galidor without many problems, think again. Galidor was a complete bomb, with adults AND kids, and doing that again would harm lego's reputation with almost everybody. Fans everywhere would notice, and even BZP would not act favoribly, from what I have seen on there. So, no, Bionicle will never be Galidor 2, not because it's my opinion, but because of the facts.

I'm probably going to have to say Insectoids or UFO, since those pretty much killed Space as we knew it.

Or Starwars because it represents a stagnation of creativity in Space, and helped keep traditional Space from returning due to the market overlap; but really can't blame it since Space was already dead.

I don't have a problem with Click-its or Quatro, actually they probably shouldn't be on this survey; since they aren't really marketed as normal legos, thus its not really relevant.

P.S. You dont need to put "IMO" on stuff you say, we already know its Your Opinion, because this forum puts your username in the upper left corner, so who else's opinion could it be? lols :-D

I personally despise Bionicle but it brings in alot of money for TLG, kids love the giant high-tech robots with huge weapons. The same goes for space, I don't like any space what so ever, but many others love it, except UFO, maybe we could do away with that.

I would definately pick Galidor or Z-NAP, but since there not up there, I'll say Clikits. It's both silly and unpopular. Lego, I know you want to reach out to the other gender to both seem more family-friendly and to earn more money, but face it. Lego is a toy for boys and it's going to stay that way. So just give up the Belleville and Clikit garbage.

Naturally there are some exceptions in the gender of the consumer, but pretaining to designing the marketing, this is a boy's toy so do what is easy and do what is best, make toys designed for males.

A lot of good options... but I had to go with 4+ Pirates. The other series at least had some possitive aspects to them. The only thing that "baby pirates" did was ruin the chances for a revival of the real Pirates theme.

I never thought there were so much anti-Bionicle members here. As I said before, I'm not a fan, but I do own 7 of the first sets (namely the first 6 Toa and some set with 2 flying creatures).

However, I see a very disturbing trend in toy stores: their Lego shelf is becoming a Bioncle shelf more and more. Town gets very little space while Bionicle gets at least half of the total space avaliable. My opinion is that kids need to play with Lego, then move on to Technic/Bionicle. But what happens is that kids seem to skip the normal Lego and start with Bionicle.

Still, Bionicle does have great MOCing potential (especially when combined with System) and has added quite some useful pieces to Lego's catalog (although it also added tons of useless pieces).

I don't like Bioncle, but it's not like I hate it. Therefore, I wonder exactly why those who type 'Die Bioncle Die' and similar things hate Bionicle. Any good reasons to hate it more then, say, Clickits, 4+ Pirates, Z'NAP or Galidor?
