Hinckley Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Hello again. See if you can find all of the threads I've posted with new 2008 sets today. :-$ Here's another one I found at TRU in Merrilville, IN. Will try to review ASAP. New molds: I'm not sure if the wheels are new, but they are new to me... :-$ Quote
Batbrick Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Thanks for the pics Hinckley! :'-) Now I see the reason for the strange tank head, that plane is cool! 8- Quote
Brickmaster Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Correct me if im wrong, but I believe these are the same wheels on this set; http://www.brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=8466-1 Im a lego nerd with peices :-$ Overall, interesting set, but nothing in too much demand for me, looks ok though, but nothing to useful. As always, a good parts pack is nice (Especially new parts!) Quote
Batbrick Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Thanks for the new pic Hinckley! :'-) Those grills are excellent, does this mean that we will be seeing 1x2 slopes soon? That wheel is too large for my tastes though |-/ Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Thanks for the new pictures, Hinckley! Quote
ExoBuilder Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Wow, Ryo and Keiken look lame in the box art :-X How expensive is this set? I'm looking forward to a review! Quote
Derek Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I agree with Exo-builder! they do look really strange! Quote
iamded Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Wow! I wonder when the Castle sets will start appearing... X-D I can't wait for your review Hinckley, they're oh so entertaining! :-D *y* ~Peace Quote
natelite Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 i saw the two new MM, two EF, the police copter and the basic construction crew sets in TRU but no castle yet. the tank costs $30. there is another ef set though that i saw in TRU, the storm lasher. parts about 235 and costs $20. it merges with the other robot set, panther something, to form a humanoid mech, which looks kinda cool. instruction will be made available from the lego EF website. what's really interesting about storm lasher is the dragonfly mini-bot. it's the coolest construction yet. and i just like the spinning blades. i didn't buy the set and didn't have a camera cell phone. sorry. :-$ oh...and it seems the chars all had a make-over. they now have a weirder cartoon portrait. you can see ryo and keiken in that screenshot. you can see the rest when other members buy the set. :-P sorry, i didn't get one. LEGO Maniac JEM Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 What are the new green and dark grey ladder wedge pieces used for? I didn't know that the top of the tank turned into an airplane! *sweet* I'm buying at least one of these. :-) Quote

john cleese Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) I'm kind of disturbed by the box art. Anyone else think this is a sign of the times? Ofcourse I'm refering to the blood and bandages motif. It's very violent, too violent. I just hope the comics aren't like that. And I'm no conservative either. As for the set, I'm thinking it's not that bad anymore, really. I was perhaps too harsh on this set before. Edited November 22, 2007 by john cleese Quote

As for the set, I think it a great change from all the giant robot mechas, and the name "rescue" comes across better than "battle mech" :-D Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
iamded Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I know it looks like blood, but it's more likely paint or a banner or something else. ~Peace Quote
xwingyoda Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 G Hinckie, are you buying all those crap sets just for attention X-D ?? Don't answer it as we all know the answer :-P *yoda* Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 All hail Hinckley! All hail Hinkcley!! Wow, thanks for the awesome new pics! The set looks great, I really like the new moulds, and the Keiken minifig. Quote
Siegfried Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Well I didn't expect that it split into two units. This set was on my list already as I need some more blue... ;-) Thanks Hinckley for the shopping spree! :-P I'm kind of disturbed by the box art. Anyone else think this is a sign of the times? Ofcourse I'm refering to the blood and bandages motif. I saw it more as a red wax seal.... Quote
Zzz Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Very nice find! And thanks a lot for the teaser pictures, hinckley!! *y* the idea with the small plane on the tank and the minirobot is just what makes this set cool, also the color looks way more nice than on the prototype! (or is it just the super deformed action shot??) but two things... (this might be the wrong place, I know....) - why is there no single girl in the EF line? I mean... animes are full of girls, perhaps one, TLC? please..... 8-| - the EF things get more and more.... non - anime - looking.....! or is it just me? If I bought this, I would surely use the parts to make a more manga-looking tank... :-D But so far, cannot wait for a review! (not only for the pics but for the funny stories... :-) ) zzz out. :-) Quote
jifel Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) i saw the red as a tattered ribbon.and how could it be blood?(robots-wires) cool! and Zzz, what about hitomi? jifel Edited November 22, 2007 by jifel Quote
