SirNadroj Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Hey! Here's my first CCCV entry (that I've released, anyway! ;-) ) inspired by Josh's Troll Farm (from Builder's Lounge: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=285666 ~ give credit where credit is due!) This depicts a troll den ~ and the Papa Troll is very lazy, and the kids do all the work. One Troll Child washes clothes by hand, while the other skins a rabbit. The poor baby is crying: yes, another use for that mandrake head! I've been making some BL orders for my CCCV entries, but I picked up some extra Scala elements for the heck of it, so I guess I found a good use for them (rug, bottles on the shelf and Papa Troll's pants.) Why not, right? I'm always game for trying something new ~ but I had to destroy my Dream Vignettes to make the bed! :-D ........... :'-( ............ ;-) He's got a face only a mother could love! :-D Quiky wasn't quick enough! ;-) Feedback's appreciated, since I haven't officially entered this yet! Thanks! *sweet* Quote
Derek Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Thats pretty funny! :-D It was clever to use the HP mandrake pieces for the baby head and the Greedo torso on the mother (?) I really like it! Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Very unique, definitely a Nadroj custom! 10/10!! Quote
SirNadroj Posted November 21, 2007 Author Posted November 21, 2007 Thanks for the feedback guys! *sweet* .....Greedo torso on the mother (?) I really like it! No, it's one of the three children. ;-) I didn't give Papa Troll a wife :'-( Quote
Batbrick Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Very clever and innovative SirNadroj! Can't have too many uses for a mandrake head! :-D *y* My one criticism is that there are too many Scala elements for my taste ;-) Great job though! Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I must echo what the people above me said! Excellent job, very innovative and entertaining, and overall, 100/10! :-P ;-) Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 :-D nice job. The troll looks great in his boxers with a bottle of wine in his hand X-D And poor ol' Quicky :'-( Once again, I love your design of beds, and the cot looks nice too. Quote
iamded Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Very cool! Great idea, the bottle in the father's hand made me laugh. :-D Awesome job! *y* *y* ~Peace Quote
Asuka Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 A wonderful scenery with a charming and a little chaotic interior and great characters! *y* And these textile parts make it all very fresh and unusual. Cool! :'-) Hey, it Quote
Siegfried Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 This could be the funniest MOC that I have seen for a long time! :-D I love the bed, and the troll children are a great idea. For the record there is nothing wrong with making kids work around the house. ;-) Now go and make Mama troll ASAP for the poor guy. :'-( Quote
Asuka Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Now go and make Mama troll ASAP for the poor guy. :'-( Yeah, but a redheaded one.... oh, and dont forget about his mother-in-law.... :-D Quote
jedikermit Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 You're pretty sick, you know that, right? I loved it. *y* Quote
SirNadroj Posted November 22, 2007 Author Posted November 22, 2007 Thanks for the feeedback guys! *sweet* :-D nice job. The troll looks great in his boxers with a bottle of wine in his hand X-D And poor ol' Quicky :'-( Once again, I love your design of beds, and the cot looks nice too. Thanks ~ but it's beer, not wine. :-D ;-) This could be the funniest MOC that I have seen for a long time! :-D I love the bed, and the troll children are a great idea. For the record there is nothing wrong with making kids work around the house. ;-) Now go and make Mama troll ASAP for the poor guy. :'-( Thanks! But I think there's something wrong with making the children work if the father is just being lazy and drinking. ;-) But can't you see why he has no wife? I mean, look a him! :-D ;-) Quote
MicVash Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 :-D Haha, this is fantastic! Sooo comical!!! All the funny details make this piece so great! Big papa troll, lazy in the bed with pajamas and a bottle o rum! :-D The whining troll child is ingenious! Actually, this whole creation is! Great work! X-D Quote

Siegfried Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Thanks! But I think there's something wrong with making the children work if the father is just being lazy and drinking. ;-) But can't you see why he has no wife? I mean, look a him! :-D ;-) But you aren't seeing it holistically. He was a loving husband and a great father but the kids were too much for his selfish wife. She ran away with a yeti just after the last was born, leaving him to care for the kids alone. He does his best, but sometimes the lonelyness and the kids bring him down. Thus, once a year, he gets pissed as a nit and makes the kids do a little work to relieve a little stress. I think you are being a bit harsh on him by showing this one scene out of context. ;-) Quote
Starwars4J Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Very nice, though I can't help but think how much cuter it could have been if the rabbit fig were one of the troll's dolls from childhood or something like that :-D Quote
simonwillems Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 This made me laugh! :-D What a great idea, placing this monstrous creature in such a cosy setting. I love the clothing and the way you made the old bed using those minifigs heads in brown. So quiet and peaceful... X-D Quote
Wout Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Great scene with much humor *y* :-D The best is the scala pants on the troll, although the kids working are also adorable. lazy days on! Quote
SirNadroj Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 Thanks guys! I've got a few more CCV entries to make, but minus this one, I've got about 5 already done. I may photograph those 5, then work on the others, or photograph them all at once. But keep your eyes peeled for more CCCV entries from me. ;-) Quote
Lt. Veers Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 That's awesome. What catagory is it in? Quote
zouave Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I like the whole moc but I can't take my eyes off that bed. It is very well designed. I don't think I've seen it anywhere so what is the CCCV contest. Quote
