Doctor Sinister Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Following my construction of the Triumph Class LAVs, I decided Tabletown needed something heavier to engage the enemy forces of BestLockLand, and so here we are! This is the Sinister Industries Aggressor Class MBT (Main Battle Tank). Weighing in at 65 metric tons, the Aggressor is designed for one purpose and one purpose alone- to dominate any battlefield by engaging and destroying enemy armour. It performs this task superbly, and can even be used for secondary tasks, such is its versatility, but more of that later... Yes, again I'm using parts almost exclusively from set 7992 - the Container Stacker. Well, I like the green! This time, I've used pieces from two of those sets, plus a sprinkling of other bits for the usual greebling etc. I actually took apart two of my Triumph LAV's to build this monster - but don't worry, the parts are on order to restore my LAV Platoon to its full strength of four vehicles very soon. As you can see from the picture below, the Aggressor hugs the ground very tightly, but it has variable-height suspension to cope with bumpy rides. The Aggressor is equipped with a single 200-megajoule electro-magnetic rail gun capable of engaging targets with accuracy over a distance of up to five miles (assuming the target is visible of course). The gun features a central core which handles any recoil within the main housing and which can be swapped out for a new core in a matter of minutes by skilled engineers, although this is obviously not possible in the field. The Aggressor features a heavy-duty turret mounted on a low-chassis and carries thick armour resistant to most types of modern projectile. The Aggressor is sealed against all NBC threats, although in the case of this MBT, crewmembers would only be able to survive for up to three days on board as the Aggressor's hungry power systems would soon deplete its batteries and fuel supply. The Aggressor can also ford rivers and operate for brief periods underwater. Please go here and here for more details! Dr. S. Quote
jifel Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 cool!but, are the kittensjust there or are they target practice? *y* awesome! Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 100% custom - although in the back of my mind I had the vague shape of an Abrams...but mainly I wanted to keep the same style as the Triumph.Dr. S. Fully custom!! 8- Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 >:-) Excellent.... Thanks! *wub* Quote
Asuka Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 A very nice and detailed tank with an impressive gun and a cool turret! *y* Quote
iamded Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Awesome! Now you can really kick those Bestlock guy's bricks! My only gripe is the turret points a tad upwards. Good for long distance, but not really for short or medium. 8-| Still, it's really cool, the front is sweet, and greebles are neat, and it's just an over-all great tank! *y* *y* Tabletown ON! Bestlock OFF! ~Peace Quote
Siegfried Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I'm starting to doubt your claims of defense. 8-| All these new purchases... what is planned next? Eitherway, this is beautiful. It makes me want to buy another two stakers and make one myself. :-D You have put those angle pieces to great use too. I do warn you though; if I see these on the streets on Sinnerton I will be releasing the ill-tempered mutant walruses... ;-) Quote
Starwars4J Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 It's big, it's green, and it's beautiful *wub* Fantastic job! Quote

iamded Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Hmm, I guess it would be better pointing up then. If only there was one way to make the joint tighter. 8-| ~Peace Quote

It does use a lot of pieces from 7992 but there are a lot of other odds and ends in there as well, more so than were used in the Triumph. For example, you'll need to have a reasonable supply of green plates of varying sizes as that's how the hull levels are built up. Nothing too exotic though. Dr. S. Quote

I may post pictures later, I'm not sure...I may sleep on it. Dr. S. Quote
