iamded Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 So, here's my first post-Apoc scene, basically all my post-Apoc characters put together, with some other stuff. X-D Above you can see the small Necrobot attack force, led by a Necrobot Lord. 2 Hunter members (me and Batbrick :-D) with the new recruit, known as 'the Hobo' stand along side our mech, ready to stop the Necrobots. One poor survivor strayed to far from his mate, and has been captured by the Necrobots. Only the skeletal robots and their master know what they do with the people they capture... The captured man's friend stands by, and starts freaking out when he sees the evil attack force! His shovel is no match for their weapons. X-O 3 mutants stand silently behind a ruined building, watching the madness. Looks like this lad got caught in the blast during the Apocalypse, vaporising his flesh. Or maybe he was crushed by rubble, and eaten by some savage mutants... who knows? 8-| Some weird foliage grows in this new land. The combinations of toxins, poisons and radiation always create strange new things. I eventually hope to have a table covered with baseplates, with the Hunter's base , some more Necrobots, etc. etc. Thanks for stopping by, comments and criticism welcome and appreciated! ~Peace Quote
Batbrick Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 This is excellent iamded, I can't say how much I love your post-apoc world! *sweet* I love the idiot who is being taken by the Necrobots, as well as SirNadroj (has his face! X-D ) trying to survive with just a shovel. The dead lad is an excellent touch, and I love how you left his death vague. The armies look great together, and I like your choice of a mutated earth instead of the typical desert one! *y* I can't wait to see this expand, I love the idea of extending it *wub* One large critisicm though: Where are my white hands? :-P X-D Anyway, can't wait to see the next one! :'-) Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Once again, very nice. I like your style. Will we be seeing an urban scene in the future? Quote
Asuka Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Nice scenery with some neat "weird foliage", I would like to see some more landscaping, though. *y* Quote
Plural Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 I really like this and I especially like your hobo minifig X-D it just looks so perfect. A really great moc overall *y* Quote
SirNadroj Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 I can't believe I haven't commented on this yet! X-O I really like this! The characters and the weapons are superb! The foliage is also nice, but you may want to expand the landscaping a little more. And why do I only have a shovel? :-P They're gonna kill me! :-D Quote
iamded Posted November 21, 2007 Author Posted November 21, 2007 (edited) Thanks for the feedback guys! Batbrick: I couldn't find any white hands. I'll keep looking. :-$ Lt. Col. Thok: I may do, I don't have many base plates or any road plates, so any bit without a building or action scene will have the wooden table. :-| :-$ Asuka: I'll be sure to add different levels, and more foliage and details in my next scene. Plural: What can I say? Thanks! :-D SirNadroj: The fad-starter! Post Apocalypse ON! :-D Thanks for the comments, I have a spare Hunter suit, just needs a head. Wanna be part of the team? *sweet* You'll get more than a shovel! X-D ~Peace Edited November 21, 2007 by iamded Quote
zouave Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 There sure a lot of post-apoc scenes going around lately. (maybe there should be a contest or something) This is probably the best I've seen yet. Those skeletal robots look cool. BTW- could someone give a definition of post apoc? My idea is people going stupid with modern weapons. but i'm seeing all these boinic lasers and stuff. :-$ Quote
iamded Posted November 21, 2007 Author Posted November 21, 2007 Congratulations on your knight-hood zouve! Post-Apoc is short for post Apocalypse, meaning after the Apocalypse. Everything is generally destroyed, in rubble, or about to collapse. And there's usually some evil force, whether it be bandits, mutant walruses, or skeleton robots! X-D Most post Apocalypse scenes are all desert-like due to foliage being wiped away in nuclear blasts or something, but in my world a lot of things have been mutated, including the foliage, instead of it being vaporised away. Looking back on my photos, they're either too bright, too dark, or out of focus. Even with a new camera my photos are still shoddy! X-D I need to work on my photography. In other news, my Hunter's mech has been improved, check it out here. [/shameless-self-promotion] :-$ X-D ~Peace Quote

[/shameless-self-promotion] :-$ X-D ~Peace ___________ Its not shameless if it's your own thread! ;-) X-D Anyway, it looks better now, especially the bulkiness of the legs. And I will get a mech soon! :'-) Batbrick-envies-iamded's-mech-because-Batbrick-is-terrible-at-making-them Away! >:-) Quote
john cleese Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I'm sorry Iamded, your moc is great, the mech is nice but it just doesnt strike me as post apoc. And I'm sure Hinkley will drop by to preach that "there's no definition for post-apoc!" Yeah, yeah... well in a sense I agree with him but I dont think this fits the ticket. It certaily shows a scene which depicts a post-apocalytic or apocalyptic situation, but it's set far in the future. I think the theme is inspired by the retro type of post-apoc, like Madmax. Quote

iamded Posted November 22, 2007 Author Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) john cleese, I respect your opinion. I know most post-Apoc MOCs are all untidy and made to look rushed together, but they also tend to be in a dusty barren wasteland. Mine has taken a different route. And SirNadroj, consider yourself part of the team! The newest member of the Hunters, SirNadroj proved himself worthy when he fought alongside fellow Hunters in a Necrobot attack, armed with only a shovel. With the captured Necrobot weapons, the Hunters have fashioned their own heavy weaponry. This weapon shoots a high powered focused laser beam, which can destroy a Necrobot with a well aimed shot. SirNadroj now wields this weapon. It's certainly better than a shovel. :-P ~Peace Edited November 22, 2007 by iamded Quote
