Medieval Asian Army (Post-Apoc)

I don't really know what to call this army, but it's a kind of 'Medieval/Feudal Asian Futuristic Post-Apoc Army' :-$ :-D Sorry about all the pics :-$

After the apocalypse, a surviving group in Asia have turned back to their old ways, and are using traditional armour and weapons, but improving them with their new-fangled technology. Using animals as transports and katanas, axes and guns as weapons, the united people march under their great leader's banner with pride.

Let's get to the not-so-grand army:

Here's the Emperor, a warlike man. He has commanded his army with great skill, and has conquered a large portion of Asia. He has a large sashimono on his back bearing the symbol of his army. He rides atop one of the few remaining horses, which is covered in armour. At it's front is a deadly plough, which can easily cut through large armies.

Here's Kublai, the Emperor's top general. A skilled mechanic and deadly in battle, Kublai can bring down even the toughest of foes. He rides a mechanical horse he built himself, with two large cannons attached to it.

Here's a dangerous mercenary the Emperor has recruited. After having been hit head-on by an explosive, his body has mostly bionic now. He is one of the Emperor's most deadly fighters, and has served the Emperor well, for a price that is.

Here's a band of assassins recruited by the Emperor. Highly skilled warriors, these men have caused the deaths of many a man.

The Centaurs. These are elite samurai who have had their legs replaced with mechanical ones, allowing them to travel at much faster rates, and provide more strength.

The emperor's Royal Guard. Hand-picked from the rest of the army as the best of the best by the Emperor himself, these soldiers show unflinching loyalty.

The Artillerymen. These men carry large cannons on their shoulders, and can devastate an enemy army with a barrage of missiles.

The Elite troops. These men are veterans of war, and have always proved capable of causing havoc among enemy ranks.

The Emperor's regular troops. These men make up the backbone of the army, and are very expendable.

The Elephants. These lumbering beasts of India tower over the battlefield, and the sight alone of these monoliths can cause terror. These improved types are capable of carrying great weights. They are controlled by beast-masters, who are said to be able to talk to them. This elephant has a large cannon attached to it, able to cause carnage to closely packed groups of men. It also has spiked tusks, allowing it to trample and plough through an enemy army.

Cool! My favourites are the mercenary with his brain exposed and the centaur. There's some cool, interesting techniques here, such as the regular troops helmets, the dragon tail being used as a minifig's weapon, an the axes on the Emperor's Guards. *y* *y* A great army it is!

These are great! They remind me of characters in some kind of crazy retro-futuristic video game.

It's nice to see so many non-traditional elements and themes combined into one cohesive fighting force.

Do you plan to expand into the kinds of enemies they might face?

Creepy and eccentric, but I like that there's an overall theme or design that you can see carried through the different characters--it's not just a mishmash of parts.

The Centaurs are probably my favorites, too. I wish LEGO would produce a "real" Centaur...that's a castle piece that's long overdue IMO.

The Asia angle is very cool and since I like it so much I shall comment on each part:

The Emperor:

Great setup, poor horse :'-( The flags are excellent, the scythes at the front are done well *y*

My only criticism is the Emperors helmet is a bit too standard.

Kublai:

I really like this guy, and the construction is well thought out. However I don't think that the skellie horse is effective as a robot, but still it is very fitting for a post-apoc setting :-)

Mercenary:

The mercenary looks awesome! 8-

Well, I'm adding a group of post-apoc pirates, who'll have a rather tattered and junky looking pirate ship, and the guerilla faction has a cannon wagon thing, although I don't really like the look of it. Thanks, iamded.

Looking forward to seeing the pirates! If you post the guerrilla faction's cannon wagon thing, even if you're not satisfied with it, I'm sure members can suggest improvements you could make. *sweet*

I've added a new vehicle for the Imperial Asian Army (That's what I'll call them now :-$ )

It's some sort of tank, a very effective vehicle for urban combat. It's wheels allow it to travel through rough terrain, it's relatively small size lets it drive through narrow streets, and it's plough allows it to clear the way of debris (and enemy infantry as well >:-) )
