Liftable Axle

Does anyone know where I could find instructions to make a lift axle? I know how TLG did it in 9397 B model, but does anyone have instructions for one with a LA or pneumatics? Also, is it ever possible to add suspension to one?

Take a look at Motomatt's 2980 Moc of a Peterbilt Tri Axle. It has a motor driven lifting stub axle megablocks'y with a spring suspension.

I did one on a Peterbilt 379 using a rotating gear.

Thanks for the help, so what I gather is that it isn't really possible to make the axle travel straight up/down, but it always needs at least a little horizontal motion?
