[US] Target exclusive 40% off...but only the bad ones

Hey guys,

No idea if its chain-wide or not but two of the four exclusive endcap sets are on sale at my local target here in the Chicago exurbs.

The exo-force Combat Crawler X2 and the Racers set I don't know the name of that are usually $50 are currently $30. No idea how long it will last either.

Sadly, Dwarf's Mining and the Tie Crawler were still full price.

that's odd though. the sets were out for hardly a month, and usually target starts with either 15% or 30%, then to 50% and to 75% (haven't yet seen lego sets going for 90% off! :-D) odd to see 40%. :-/

Maybe they are thinking about cleaning stocks of the bigger sets to make room for smaller sets for christmas? :-/

Last year I seem to recall the endcap sets cycling through quickly. Maybe not this quickly but then again, these two sets are pretty bad.

What is potentially interesting to me is what this might mean for next year's black friday set. As I said in the black friday thread, I believe next years set would be the Mobile Devastator from Exo-Force. But if Target just got burned on an exclusive that sold as poorly as the Combat Crawler X2 seems to be selling around here, we have a much better chance at an ISD.

I just got back from target from buying the airport set (so I can go back with recepit and claim the sale money back, heh) and I saw them aswell - even at those prices I still was not interested :-X

thanks for that update. hmm, might consider getting lots for parts pack if it ever went down to 12.48! X-D 75%...that sweet, favorite number. :-P

I will buy nearly any LEGO set I find if Target cuts it to 75% off. Thus, I have 3 A-Wings, 3 TIE Interceptors, etc.
